Today in Tampa is Gasparilla. It is pretty serious around here and there have been drunk people wandering around the city dressed like pirates since about 8AM. It won’t end until after 2AM today, and it is pretty wild, everyone drinks in the streets and there is all sorts of debauchery that happens. I wore out the soles of my party boots years ago so I take no part in it except to clean the empties from my yard that get thrown over my fence by careless drunken pirates.

It’s not bad. I live down the block from a club and it’s bad on all the major drinking holidays. At least I’m not locked in by road closures where I live…and it’s really only crazy today, on the day of the big parade.

Update, last night wasn’t too crazy around here and there was not too much trash around the house but I did have to clean up some broken bottles in my driveway and the street in front of the house.

Compared to last year this was a super mild year.
