What’s In Your Ears? The Music Thread

I love music and I’m always looking for something I haven’t heard before. I listen to lots of stuff and will give anything a shot.

Today it is Sludder, new skate punk that reminds me of the stuff I grew up with like Lagwagon.

    What are you listening to?

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Well I’ll be dipped. I never really checked out that thread, probably clicked on it at one point. (I also may have confused it with the Mrs Butterworth thread and I don’t go in there…) I played the first one, and will be back for the rest.

Today it was The Vandals on the way to work. I’ve been into punk for a long time but there’s some classic stuff I never gave the time of day to…mostly because I just never listened to it. Really dig this album, listened all the way through (like an old man who grew up on cassettes).

ID:	641107 Heard Breathe this morning and decided to revisit this album. Haven’t heard it all the way through since the 90’s and it was pretty okay. Ahhh, musical nostalgia.

“Narayan” is the track I like on that album.

I do, and I love that album.

I saw them in NY on the Hello Nasty tour with KRS1 and A Tribe Called Quest and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. Never saw a crowd get that hyped up for a band, like people going nuts in the nosebleeds, not one person was sitting while they were on. It was wild.

That’s a great track, it got overlooked as a single as far as I remember…

This is a really good album and Danger Zone is super awesome. Side note, Archer was a pretty awesome show.

ID:	641208 NOFX. Got to see them live for the first time last year in Orlando with Pennywise, Circle Jerks, and a bunch of other great bands on their final tour. I’ve tried to get to a show for the last 27 years but something always messed it up…and I wasn’t missing their final tour. I think this may be my favorite band.

Nothing but earwax right now, but tonight I am taking my daughter to see Machinehead, Fear Factory, Orbit Culture, and Gates to Hell in Orlando. Super excited for it, it is her birthday present (but today is not her birthday). She likes to mosh, and I like to hang out with the old dudes on the edge of the pit who have been hurt too many times going in a mosh pit to get back in, but still like to be close to the action.

ID:	641216 Orbit Culture was awesome! They were fast and tight, and played some new stuff which was awesome!! (Only picture I took at the whole show) Snus and Swedish Metal just go together lol.

Machinehead was awesome, sound better live than their albums in my opinion, played classics but also some of their new album (which is the probably their best album to date-I will fight about that), and were a hoot to boot.

Fear Factory was awesome as well, their new singer is from Rome, I couldn’t figure out what was going on and why his singing sounded awkward? I realized it was his accent, and he has a really good voice. He did justice to the old stuff but made it his, and the new stuff was awesome live. It was really good, and Dino is always awesome, the main reason to see them for me.
