    Robo-Texts

This is not about Robocop sending texts, although that would be cool…

Any of y’all get those automated political texts? I’ve been getting more and more each week as the year has gone on. I always stop, block and then report as junk, but still they keep coming.

All parties have sent me texts thus far, not just the one I’m registered as (for primaries, game the system kids) and it’s annoying.

I remember the “do not call” number, is there something like that for texts?

I’m sure some (or a bunch) of companies sold mg number, plus hacks. I’ve had my number since 2002 when I gave up on landlines. Not paying double for that, plus where does one find an answering machine these days.

Side note, I had to explain answering machines to my 16 year old recently.

Seems I’ve detailed this thread in the initial post, is that a record or just rolling in the true snuson spirit?

I digress, as usual, carry on.

no spam/scam calls on my landline....not yet anyways. I have all inbound texts halted except the texts that I need for my bank and other investment outfits

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Monkey, don’t you have voicemail on your cell phone? Isn’t that like answering machine.

No political party texts here yet but I guess we will get them at some point.

I do have voicemail, and she does too on her phone. My daughter was flabbergasted that there used to be entire machines dedicated to voicemails. She’s never really seen a landline, my parents have one and an answering machine) but they live in NY and we visit them once a year so it’s not a constant thing for her…they come see us more than we get up there cause they’re retired living life with no real schedule.

I aspire to this when I no longer need my phone for work. No more texts would be great.

Wow if this post wasn't a foreshadowing of things to come. Getting non-stop texts lately. But unlike the consensus here, I am having a good time with them. Had one guy actually call me recently and asked who I was voting for. I told him until everyone is made to submit to moral legislation and forced Sunday worship, I'm not voting for anyone. But I will still probably vote since the Pope said I have to. He didn't text me that directly, that's just his directive for everyone per one of his recent interviews. I think his exact words were, you must vote for the lesser of two evils.

Every time I block them, they come back in With a different number. I’m ready to burn down my digital footprint and go live in the woods… Well, at least emotionally.
