also, ikaruga on xbla needs to be purchased post haste.

Thanks to your recommendation I decided to download the demo of ikaruga. I see that its developed by Treasure who are the same folks who did Gunstar Heroes which was also very good.

I like it, even though I suck at it I think I'll download the full game at some point.

Although not the same type of game I recommend you giving Shadow Complex for the XBLA a go if you haven't yet. Great 2D side scrolling game in the same vein as Super Metroid for the SNES. It's for sure worth a try.

Everywhere was sold out of 360's, I was getting ansy, so I bought a PS3.

As of right now, I've been playing Drake's Fortune, Burnout Paradise (which I love, I'm a big fan of that series), Lost Via Domus (despite bad reviews, I'm a lost fan - and I like this game), and Guitar Hero World Tour is on the way here. Wooooeeeee.

Any suggestions?

The PS3 is a sweet machine. But it takes ages to load a game or DVD. Graphics are about the same as the 360 - potentially better long term, sound is a bit better. And it plays Blu Ray too - which is a big deal if you have a proper HD TV.

The online experience is NOT as good as 360 though - although it pretty much does do the same thing at the end of the day. User Interface is crappier too - but then Sony have never managed a good UI on anything they've made, ever.

I'm not biased, I have 360, Wii and PS3 - just my $0.02

Based on what you're playing right now Chad you seem to enjoy different types of games.

If you're enjoying the first Uncharted then for sure get the sequel Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

As far as other PS3 exclusives go:

Infamous: gets a bit repetitive at times, but its still a lot of fun blasting with your electric powers.

Killzone 2 (First Person Shooter) not quite the Halo killer it was promised to be but still looks good and plays good.

Little Big Planet: If the kid in you still likes platform games in the spirit of Super Mario then give it a try. C'mon you know you want to.

A good Playstation Store downloadable game is Wipeout HD. Futuristic high speed race game with weapons to blast your foes all set to a techno soundtrack...works for me and it looks purty.

As far as the non-exclusive games go. Well, I'm sure by now you know the big ones. I'll wager that Daruckis will agree with me that Fallout 3 is the s**t. Assassins Creed 2, Grand Theft Auto 4, Call of Duty 2 are all popular for good reason.

Oh yeah and if you've never played the Half-Life games then pick up The Orange Box. Talk about value for your gaming dollar. You must pick up that game!

Orange box is the best deal of any game. It's days and days of play time since there's like 4 games, TFC2 sells itself, and portal is just awesome. Wish they would have included half life 1 which I still think was the best. Re-doing the graphics would make it fun to play all over again.

I was really hoping that they would do more with portal. They did it kind of as a joke I think but the concept of the portal gun could relaly be integrated into a cool full scale game if you ask me.

Are they actually making a portal 2? Will it be a real game or another all indoors type thing?
