    Flat tires SUCK!

Experienced my second flat tire this MONTH while driving to the in-laws for Christmas day lunch. Why is this happening it me? The tires were perfectly good and I know I couldn't have driven over glass twice. F' this s'!

I'm sorry, my friend, the whiners' thread is that way ------->

Flat tires really do suck, though, especially ON Christmas, right before the weekend. My sympathies.

That sucks. There's not much worse than fixing a flat on the side of the road. I'd strongly suggest buying a good plug kit, and manual tire pump to keep in the trunk. It's super easy to plug a tire if you know where the hole is. Don't cheap out on the kit though. You really get what you pay for with tire pluggers. The kind with pistol grips are much better than the ones that look like screwdrivers, and the tips with the elongated C shape is much better than the kind with a notch at the end.

Glass through a car tire? Hmmm. Never heard of that. Do you have any enemies? If not, steer clear of the small gravel on the seldom used parts of the road. Other crap collectes there as well.

Man, I had a horrible experience with a flat tire last week. My Jeep Liberty's rear passenger tire went flat. I pulled out the trusty ol' jack but found it couldn't get the car up high enough with my new bigger tires. I finally got the tire off but couldn't get a new one on there. So I got another jack and started to lift the axle a bit, and the whole car fell off both jacks and rolled down onto the axle.

I felt somewhat vindicated when the towing guy couldn't get it high enough either even with a badass floor jack. =D

That sucks! My experience was almost identical. My lovely Jeep came with a jack, but not with anything to remove the lug nuts. I called the cops and an officer came out to help (I pay taxes, why not?). His badass floor jack didn't work, and the handle sprung back and left a nice dent in my door. The lugs were so tight, we had to both use all our force on the tire iron to get them off.

                Correction for all you peeps.
When good tires go bad........they blow.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.
