Quantum Mechanics.. Book suggestions

I am tryin to find a good book on Quantum Mechanics. I understand the basic principles but I want something that goes into a little more detail without requiring me to have a PHD.


Does anyone have any suggestions of books you've read that may help me better understand how quantum mechanics works?

EDIT: Keep in mind I am a layman and don't have an extensive background in mathematics or mechanics so I obviously will not be able to get into the real details. Something that provides a basic explanation of it that is readable by someone with only a high school education for self learning purposes only.

Seriously, as someone who spent 4 years in a physics PhD program, why do you want to know this? It doesn't entirely make sense to a lot of people who study it. Just Wikipedia Schrodinger's Cat, that's about as good an overview as one can expect to get. Just my HUMBLE opinion.

Well while I understand the complexity of the subject, and I realize I will not likely be able to understand it in any relevant capacity, I still like to read what I can on things.
