I'll speak frankly and say that I was bummed to see a post get locked up that was speaking out about a personal problem with politics in the appropriate section where many others, myself included, have not been censored for doing the same. I will also be frank and say that I understand that Faust rubs many the wrong way, so to speak. I too can recognize that and have had my frustrations in the past with how condescending you are, Judge Faust, and how you mock the process of reasonable debate by degrading your opponents. Oh, come on. Let's not beat around the bush, as it were. This tends to be a far-right wing forum, and people such as myself are very much unwelcome here. Even the moderators seem to be hell-bent on silencing my voice, having apparently ignored the fact that the word "moderator" is derived from the verb "moderate," rather than the noun "bias..."

My only "schtick" is that I am a Communist, and not afraid to let this fact be known. Yes, this makes me unpopular in this intolerant nation during these intolerant times. Obama, you promised us "change." I, for one, am still waiting for just the smallest scrap of change. To wit:

(1) You promised an end to the fascist wars of your moronic predecessor. RESULT: You have decided to continue occupying Iraq. You have decided to escalate the war in Afghanistan. You seem to be hell-bent on picking a fight with Iran. Oh, and now you have a thing against Yemen, as well.

(2) You promised to stop torture and close the torture-camp at Guantanamo. In fact, you went so far as to order the closure oh-so-many-months ago. Then you said that the deadline would not be met. Then you forgot all about it. RESULT: Torture is alive and well at Guantanamo.

(3) You promised change to the irrevocably broken Imperial healthcare system. RESULT: still broken; a toothless sham of a deal may or may not get passed in the upcoming century or two.

It's not even so much that the dems or the reps are bad parties as far as their ideology is concerned, I mean they both hold american values, the left being more about social equality etc and the right being more about conservative spending and small government. In theory they should pull against each other and the country would land somewhere in the middle. In theory.

The reason we need to break up the parties is to destroy the machine behind them that has corrupted everything. All the campaign money, the lobbyests, I mean they all have their teeth so deep into the thing, it has become a parasite on both parties and the onyl way to kill it is to slaughter the host.

I liked VBSnus's idea of having a general campaign fund and breaking it up evenly to give everyone a fair chance, and require at least 1 third party.

I am sure a lot of democrats find themselves in the same boat as me. I like republicans ideas, small gov, conservative spending, etc, but that's not what the ACTUAL party does when they are in power. Same with the dems, they like gay rights, socially equal policies, universal healthcare, no wars of aggression etc yet when their party is in power they don't accomplish those things. This is why I say the ideas behindthe parties are great, but when the party gets elected it tends to fall away from what it was elected to do. I hope more people vote 3rd party this year just to show them that we are getting fed up.
