Sorry tex, I like you man, but in this case I'll pull the age card and just say that I think you're too young to really know what you're talking about. I know it's hard not to take that the wrong way, but christ man you're what, 19? I'm no old-ass man, but I'd wager that another decade or two of gathering historical knowledge and applying some critical thought might change our mind about Hitler's positive traits, not to mention the notion that America needs an authoritarian ruler with aspirations toward world-domination and ethnic purity... yeah I know you added the disturbingly familiar "minus the whole superior race bullshit" disclaimer, but that is a meaningless preface to any praise of his leadership skills. It defined the second half of his reign. Jesus why am I the anti-hitler guy on the forum. Lol wtf people. Maybe I just spend too much time responding and reacting to it. Joke's on me I guess. F'n Nazi-loving pr*cks.

actually i had the discussion with an old teacher of mine. and i quote him "hitler had some f*cked up ideas about ethnicity but he knew how to run a country, that was one of Germany's most prosperous times" end quote.

im not saying praise hitler make a clone and elect him. but you can't deny it. he got shit done. the holocaust and the camps...that was some pretty bad shit.

i guess i should have said somebody with some of his leadership qualities.

somebody thats not scared to get sit done or push it through.

        like bush.....but way f*cking smarter

edit...if nothing im posting makes sense its because i havent slept in a couple days and only get maybe an hour or two in during the daytime. idk if anything i posted before this made sense hell.

I understand what you meant about the whole time for a Hitler thing. He got the country out of a terrible depression, made the Germans feel better about losing World War I with his 'Stab-in-the-back' claim, and got things done. But I think any man with that sort of charisma and power is bound to lead to bad things, because he's that well liked by his people and has such limitless power. We need a leader, but not a Hitler.

I'm not all that much disappointed with Obama, mostly because I had so few expectations. Personally, as liberal as I am (damn card carrying socialist here), I have to say I think with messed up two countries for bad reasons, we at least owe it to them to stay around and clean up the mess we made. I was against both wars when they started, and I'm against starting something with Iran or any other "terrorist" state. But look at Japan. We messed up their country with arguably damn good reasons, and kept a heavy presence there for decades helping them get back on their feet. Same with Europe post-war. Of course we mostly did that to prevent them falling to the Soviet Union, but still.

I personally feel that things are going to get worse, and keep on getting worse. I'm out of school for this semester, but I plan on going back come summer, and using my undergrad degree to get the hell out. I don't see a future for the US without a major overhaul, and although I hate to use the word since it sounds like such angsty teenage waffle, I can really only see it changing if things get so bad that there's a revolution. Or a takeover.

If I had any faith in the good nature of humans, I'd say I wish the US would go communist, but socialism is as far as I step. In my opinion, communism gives people to much credit, hinging on them being altruistic, working for everyone. It only takes a couple of greedy bastards to ruin the whole thing, and it's happened every time a country has tried going that route so far. I've heard more and more people who lived under the Soviet Union say they wish it would come back, but I know just as many who hated it, and I'd say people living under current communist governments are pretty dissatisfied as well. Read the Gulag Archipelago. That's what happens when communism goes bad.

And don't forget, Uncle Joe and Chairman Mao have a lot of blood on their hands. Communism has killed far more people in its repressive policies than Hitler did with his genocidal rage.

            what he said ^

and no matter how a revolution happened it would be called treason.

            or lumped in with terrorism.

Ha! I've said the same thing. And believe it. Really, if it wasn't for the enthnocentricity it was the most advanced nation in modern history.

I know, why did he have to attach this stigma to such a sweet stache. The only characteristic I envy of hitler was that stache, but if I were to run an evil empire, I would have to choose the 300 beard. It commands respect.

What is it with internet forums and their ability to attract Hitler conversations? lol

Look Hitler wasn't a good guy, but yes he had a very modern and cutting edge arsenal. This is only because he ran a totalitarian state and bankrupted his country by dumping all of his money into fringe science and wars on too many fronts. This and he had slave labor and endless human specimens to conduct research on.

The guy was your typical sociopath mixed together with some mad scientist.

A hitler type could never rise to power in America, we hate big government even though we allow ours to keep growing, but Americans still have a stigma towards anything that is openly totalitarian and Mccarthyism still sticks with us which is why even communism tends to get a bad wrap here (except on this forum ).

Also, keep in mind that Hitler's ethnic agenda was at the core of his whole operation, which supplied a scape goat to blame everything on the jews, free slave labor, and endless medical experiments on humans. Without the jews hitler would not have risen to power.

I believe the number one duty of a government, is to provide safety and security of it's people.

Our government has failed at this enormously. Consider all the people living in poverty, all the homeless people, the unemployed. Consider all the people murdered, robbed, shot, raped, every day in the US.

To me, our failed government is the cause of all this, and so they must be blamed for it. One could factually say the government has robbed, shot raped all these people, and caused all the poverty, homelessness, and unemployment.

Our failed government has set itself up as the enemy of it's own people.

If you consider all this, and hunt up all the numbers, I believe the US government has done far worse and more evil things than Hitler, Stalin, Mao, or whoever else it's deemed unPC to ever consider any positive aspects of.

I'm sick of politics all together and that's exactly why I'm sick of it. Because it's politics and not representation. Yet, I can't get away from it, because I'm interested in the going ons. You can't get the news straight, though. All you hear is slanted politics. I lean much to the right and am disgusted by this circus of a presidency as well, but I cannot speak a word of support for the GOP either. I agree with Faust. It's the same damn coin. The more of us that start realizing that, the better.

I watched this movie called Zietgeist yesterday, and it was really interesting. The actions of the US Government and it's leaders make Hitler look like Bart Simpson.

Yah i'm glad the dems will probably get kicked out but I know the road is long yet, as we still have to worry about what kind of nonsense the GOP will pull when they inevitably get another turn. Lets hope this seasons is better than the last 8.
