A Snuson channel?

I've had an idea on my mind for a while, thought I'd throw it out here for everyone. This may test the memories of some of you, and go totally past my fellow members of the under 30 crowd, but would anyone be interested in having a Snuson IRC channel? It's basically just a big chat room, you download an IRC client (like mIRC or Xchat, amongst myriad others), pick and screen name, and join. Everyone can see the whole conversation in real-time, unless you go into a private room. I thought it might be interesting for those of us wanting to have a steady conversation, but not have to wait for the forum to be checked, and go read every post to see if someone's responded.

So, would anyone be interested in such a thing? Would the founders/owners of Snuson object to me opening a #Snuson on Rizon? Seriously, that last one's pretty important, because as much as I like this idea, I don't want to step on anyone's toes if they'd get angry at me for using the Snuson name. Let me know, people.

I haven't done IRC for over 7 years, and I have no interest to go back to those old days. Nowadays the trend seems to be towards BlogTv.

I had a blogTV last year. It got old. I would like a chat on site as well. The PM thing is nice, but it would be nice to talk with more than one person in real time.

I'd agree, I'd much prefer a onsite chat. Although I'd have to argue that IRC is dead. It's still plenty useful for piracy, thank you. There are things that can only be found on IRC, and aren't on any torrent tracker. Of course, they're usually creepy things, but still. There's music, too. Honest, it's not all just fourteen year-olds tradin pr0n with thirty something guys who live at home in their parents' basement and don't work.

That was part of why I was thinking it might be kind of cool, actually. From time to time, I see a thread come up about members' bands, and I was thinking it would be an easy way for them to share music and spread their names. Of course, that's only really useful for misanthropes like myself that refuse to get a myspace account, and can't download their things from there.

I agree. Let's get our heated political discussions in real time! Also we could talk about video games and what's in our mouth's, nose's, ear's all at once! Sorry had to be a little sarcastic there, yea chat would be cool. I like to think of SnusOn as my interweb family, so yea chat would rock!

Well I've been trying to get gabbly up on here for the last hour,,,, it's just not working.... anybody run gmail..... I guess we can chat on there. Yes i'm not comfortable with IRC. If any of you want to put it in steps i'd be willing to learn....

How about an irc channel on a network smaller than freenode?
I'm currently klined there for dropping the dcc exploit :wink:

Rizon would work fine. My ban there actually expires tommorow.
