Another thing you could do which is easier is just switching out red meat for poultry and seafood.

That's how upside down cakes originated. The only difference is they used to do them on the stove top, prolly cuz it was hard back in the day to control the heat in an oven....... or have an oven at all.....

I tell ya what, college can be a real killer on health. but getting back to my main reason for this post, does anyone have any good vegetarian recipes? most of all the cooking i did before was with meat.
Be sure to do some research on complete proteins.

It is very easy to get them on a vegeterian diet by combining two or more foods. If you are planning on losing some weight and gaining some muscle mass (even if just toning up) while taking care of your cholesterol, making sure you have a balanced diet is a must.

Google that shit. No need to get less healthy by accident.

Quinoa (keen wah) is a complete protein in grain form. There will be a lot of combos that you can use.

You know I just googled that shit and I got a bunch of crap. The best way to do this is eat a varied diet. Grains, legumes, nuts, leafy green vegetables and low fat dairy. Also drink plenty of water and eat some fiber so you can poop. Pooping is important.

Back on topic, I cook at work so tonight we had some five guys....I had a bacon double cheeseburger and it was goooooood. We rarely eat out but the kids were screaming for McDonalds. I haven't eaten in a place with processed food in 12 years. Their mom must haves taken them.....now hopefully they will scream for five guys. At least it is real, fresh food if not healthy.

Nothing fancy, here. Tonight, I am making a small beef roast for my wife and me. I think I'm going to do it in a cast iron Dutch oven with carrots, onions, and whatever gravy it makes for itself. Maybe some red wind and mushrooms, too.

I've been reading cast iron skillet recipes since I got my skillet. Blue called it with the pineapple upside down cake. It's a very common recipe for cast iron recipe searches. My mom used to make them but not in the skillet. I just did one as practice for one I want to make for my mom on Saturday. Looks great! Has cardamon, coconut, and coconut rum in it....

Nothing too exciting. Homemade chicken stir-fry in teriyaki and soy sauce with a hint of garlic. All on a bed of white rice.

I love when this thread gets resurrected. I oft forget that it's here. Will post some non-descript pics of polish sausage and saurkraut tomorrow just to keep it up.....
