I should point out that the Leeroy Jenkins video is, quite obviously, staged.

That said, this particular part of the dungeon was indeed responsible for many many deaths due to brainless behavior by one or more party members, so it's almost accurate.

Thing is, most WoW players are male, and men don't ever read the instructions. Even after 5 years of WoW, my raid group still has the following conversation whenever we try a new encounter:

Raid Leader: "Ok, so did you guys read up on the strategy for this one?"

Dude 1: "Yeah, sort of. There's like these globs coming out of the floor and you have to avoid them."

Dude 2: "Actually, I think you're meant to stand in them the gain a boost"

Dude 1: "Oh, ok, that works too."

Dude 3: "That's the next boss, this is the one who summons demons"

Dude 2: "Are you sure?"

Dude 3: "Well... no.".

Dude 4: "Sorry, I went to get a drink, so what's the stategy?"

Raid Leader: "You know what, let's just go in there and see what happens"

20 seconds later, everybody's dead.

Raid Leader: "Ok, so what went wrong?"

Dude 1: "I don't know, I think I stood in the globs"

Dude 2: "Nah man, I died and I was nowhere near a glob"

Raid Leader: "... I'm afk to watch the video guide"

Also, something that has caused us more wipes than anything else:

Healer 1: "Dude, tank healing is mad easy on this one"

Damage Dealer 1 has died.

Healer 2: "Yup, hardly have to do anything"

Damage Dealer 2 has died.

Healer 1: "Wait, you're healing the tank too, so who's doing everybody else?"

Damage Dealer 3 has died.

Healer 2: "That's Healer 3."

Healer 3: "Eh, no, I'm on the tank guys."

Damage Dealer 4 has died.

Healers 1, 2 and 3: "Ooops."

If anything, WoW is a study in how often you can make the same mistake without ever learning from it.

To a WoW player, it should be obvious. You can tell that the person recording it goes out of his way to gather as many monsters as possible, rather than actually fight them.

There are many other clues, but they'd either take too long to explain or wouldn't make much sense to somebody who doesn't play the game.

That, and the group who made the video admitted to it.

Such an oldie but still funny, I thought it was great when they made an achievement for pulling a Leroy, what is it 50 whelps? I quit playing it after hitting 80 on a few toons.

Obviously staged, that guild is still together btw, well it was as of about a year ago, I haven't kept up.

yes, 50 whelps, most classes can solo it in T9

hehe, I duoed it in t4... feral druid.

Took a lowbie healer in to get the achievement, had to res the guy after summoning the flame dude outside the room, swipe+double maul, demo roar, I didn't really need the healer, frenzied regen and a health pot and barkskin+hots.

I guess I got out just before ferals became viable DPS.

Hmph the evil WoW took me few weeks ago once again, and now im bored again, after 2 weeks and god damn it, I bought 2-month gametime, Just wasted ~20 euros. Its too easy game these days imo, played only for +week and had everything what would had take months in classic. -_o
