    Weight Loss Buddy

I know this is a snus forum but I am willing to bet I am not alone in this area.

Is there anyone out there who wants to buddy up on weight loss? I want someone to hold me accountable, someone I can vent to, or just talk food with occasionally when I am depressed and want to eat everything in the fridge.

After having 3 kids I am at my heaviest weight, minus the 22 pounds I lost prior to Christmas. My husband is fed up with it and more importantly I am!

I don't want to crash diet, or do something like WW. I want to eat right, exercise and watch my calorie intake...as that is pretty much the only thing that works for me.

So if you are down, PM me or we can use this thread, as long as that is ok with Mod's.

I need to lose weight as well. Not sure how good I would be as a buddy though.

A calorie tracker is something you might want to look into. My wife has lost close to 40 lbs with one. She uses loseit on the iphone but I am sure there are plenty of online trackers. You just tell it how much you want to lose and enter everything you eat and your exercise and it seems to work just like it should.

I have a long, long way to go to hit where I want to be. I have tried and tried over the past 2 1/2 years. I lost 50 lbs and gained it all back and then some. Life seems to get in my way, every time. I need to stay focused and motivated. Or my husband is going to find some hot momma to leave me for

I begged for one of those things you wear on your arm that is very close to what the iphone/ipod does, but my husband wouldn't shell out the cash. He wants me to get skinny but shows me no support, therefore here I am on a mission for support...Sad huh?!

I won't use online sources, I have tried in the past and end up not entering stuff in. I have to go plain old paper and pen on food journaling.

With that said, I did make YouTube videos a while back and that is when I lost the 50lbs, I don't want to go back to that simply because there was a ton of drama in that community.

I should try just tracking by paper and see if I can get my hubby to get me something like what Red's wife has.

                Maybe that will help.

to be honest wii fit and wii fit plus can get the blood pumping. i have some pilate dvds that i can send you, you only have to do them 3 times a week or more if you want and it does cut your weight down and tone you up. the most important aspect of losing weight will be your diet...im against all "published" diets because of my own reasons. you dont have to worry about counting calories and all that. i find a vegetarian or vegan diet helps. you can get protein from more than just meat and your body can digest and absorb more from vegetables, fruits and grains than it can from meat. thats just how the human digestive system is set up. im not trying to lose weight but just keep in shape. id love to help out if I can.

oh yea F*CK scales. i know you will want to check your weight from time to time but your weight really wont be an accurate measure of progress during the beginning stages, it can actually discourage you. so dont think in terms of weight think in terms of slenderness. focus on the size of pants you want to fit into instead of the weight you want to achieve and you'll have a higher chance of success.

EDIT: you can email me on facebook as well as here

I wanna lose a good 50lbs, I really need to, yet every effort I make I always fall off the wagon. I really need an intervention, my food addition is worse than a heroin addict. Best results I had, while I stuck to it, was reducing my carb intake.

Nothing deep Fried. No crackers, doritos, onion rings, chicken patties etc..
                      No Pop even diet
No sugar unless it is 100 percent fruit juice or real fruit. Corn syrup is a killer and it is in a lot of juice so watch out for it.

Walk for 15-20 minutes every other day.
I partially stuck to this regiment for close to 15 years and have remained pretty stable weight wise. If I stuck to it 100% I would be in perfect shape.
Just start eating real foods nothing processed. THis includes fatty meats, butter, cheese, fresh breads, all nuts and fruits. If you eat salads get or create a natural dressing. Dont worry about real fats but stay away from processed fats.

This is more of a lifestyle diet but if you want a crash diet which you will lose a lot of weight guaranteed within 2 months but eventually gain it back is to go all out fat free and double your fiber supplements. You can eat all the sugar and carbs but you have to limit the fat grams to less then 10 per day. The weight will melt off daily.

It just sucks and makes me depressed to not be able to eat what I want, but then being fat and feeling bad does too.

Another thing which I wish I did more of is eat more meals in the day instead of a small one in the morning, average lunch and a big dinner.

It is better to graze all day and not do any big meals at all.

That gets your metabolism to run all day.

I aint no skinny ninny, an neither is my wife, but that just sounds wrong. I certainly hope he's more supportive than that statement sounds.

Face it, being fat sucks. I know. I weighed 335 pounds at my heaviest about 8 years ago. I lost 135 pounds but have gained back about 75 of that over the years. My wife lost about 50 pounds along with me but while I want her to be healthy along with myself, there is nothing that can be gained by "wanting someone to be skinny".

I tend to take the vows I took 19 years ago to heart. If I wasn't happy with my wifes looks I would want to do what ever I could to help her. Thank god most people get ugly and old together :P

                            Best of luck!

This whole dieting thing is bullshit IMHO.....

It's not about watching your calories, or your fat intake, it's about making the right eating choices in the first place. If you eat RIGHT, you can pretty much eat as much as you like for the rest of your life and stay slim.

No processed carbohydrates. At all. Ever. Stoneground wholewheat bread and pasta. No potatoes. No corn. Sadly, no beer if you're trying to lose weight.
No sugar - other than natural fruit sugars. But only in fruit.
                              Don't eat carbs with fats.

If you follow those rules you will shed the pounds easily. On the downside, it's pretty hard at first, but you'll soon get into the swing of it. On the positive side, you can eat things like steak and salad (no fries, no baked potato), cheese and (very dark) chocolate.

Google for "montignac"...seriously, getting thin while eating well is perfectly possible and even enjoyable with the right mindset.

Following "this diet" or "that diet" is a recipe for failure....
