From what I read on wiki, the guy had the music and knew how he wanted the lyrics to go, so he was just flubbing it speaking gibberish and planning on writing proper lyrics later. Then people heard it and told him they liked it too much, so they recorded it.

Well, the remixes were sarcastic. The originaly song was something of a joke too.
