    SUPERBOWL PREP!

Who's cooking what? I decided to NOT smoke anything for superbowl this year, instead we're having a SOUPER BOWL PARTY..

I've got two lobsters in there boiling for lobster stock to make the Lobster Bisque.

8 pounds of oxtail and beef shank roasting with onion & carrots to make the stock for the Beef Bourguignon

and finally, a Beer-Cheddar soup will round out the trio for SOUPER BOWL SUNDAY

I will probably reprise my smo-fried chicken wings as those are always a big hit, but that will be it for smoking..

I've got 5 pounds of sourdough in there proofing, will make pain au levain baguettes to slice & crisp up as crostinis for the soups.

    So who else is cooking?

Holy crap! You've got some lucky friends.

I might make some chili. I would love to try making some beer cheese soup soon.

Not very elaborate this year as I'll be away from home most of the day. I've got wings in the drink since yesterday and we'll grill those. The sauce is hot diggedy and I made a glaze for after they're cooked. Not that I needs the glaze but what the hell? It's the Superbowl. The blue cheese is getting to know some other guys in a big glass jar now too. Mmm mm mm.

We'll also have shrimp cocktail and I made a sauce for that too.

            I really think that's it. I have a nice vegetable soup, a few brewskies, I don't know...I guess I'll need some carbs.

Maybe nachos or something. I have all the stuff but I probably should've made a salsa already.

            Oh yeah, and snus!

as a last minute audible by me and the Mrs. the beer-cheddar soup became beer-cheddar-bacon soup..

4 sourdough baguettes are out of the oven, the bisque is resting in a warmer, as is the beef bourguignon stew...

              and i'm 3 hours early..

              oh well

I am going to a party just for the snacks and Guiness. I am so not into fball that I asked one of my husband's friends who was playing. I got the blank stare in return as he couldn't believe I had no clue.

I love to cook but took the easy route today as I'm kinda sick and it's just me and my girl... Went to the Bavarian Meat Deli in Pike Place Market and got 2 backwurst, 2 weisswurst, some landjaeger cured links, fresh kraut, assorted Ayinger beers, German mustard, a baguette, german pretzel rolls, and I'm going to whip up some curry ketchup. And fresh crab and fresh salmon caught yesterday, but I doubt I'll get to the seafood with all these brats. I think I should eat a tangerine or something with all this meat... Nah screw that.

We decided to bake some Italian subs, BBQ smokeys, vegi dip. I've got 4 cans of Guinness Draught in the fridge.

I am not a sports fan, apart from Strongest Man competition, and pro wrestling, so I have no interest to watch it.
But we made a nice chicken, and rice, with peppers, and mushrooms and mushroom soup cassarole.
Bin chawin' sum chew aw day.
Watched No Country For Old Men.

I ended up making fresh white corn tortilla chips and salsa. Kids really enjoyed it. My oldest daughter watched the game all the way til 1/2 time then went to bed. I was impressed. She actually was trying to learn the game. My middle and youngest daughter watched "Shorts" in the other room as they don't care for football.
