Even if they don't work for 100% of the power, it'll help reduce fossil fuel usage, and postpone old tech power supply upgrades. It could be just enough to buy us some time before we run out of easily exploitable energy.
Yep, I couldn't agree more. Employ whatever method works to supplement the norm, wherever it works to produce energy at a rate far more efficient than that used to produce it.
Its great to use whatever cool new green technology we can but I am curious what is going to replace oil. We can make electricity in several ways but gasoline is a very versatile thing that is used everywhere. It is the main energy for our cars, tanks, jets etc. What will replace it? I think the energy companies try to suppress new technology, although I have no proof of that. I figure with the amount of money they have, they can buy up patents or whatever and not release them. Theres no way no one has come up with a better was after all this time.

We should get off oil also because we need petroleum to make plastics and other synthetics like rubber. We use a lot of plastic and rubbers nad although ive seen some cool new green containers etc, it's going to be a while until we can replace plastic or rubber.
