    General - Original Pursuit Tour

I just noticed that General Original Pursuit tour hasn't got huge attention here, but I think it's cool! Guys are traveling around US, I think right now they are up to the mountains (Vail, Jackson Hole etc.), probably having lot of fun and seeing great skiing places! I just checked the schedule and it seems that 31 March they are having Ladies Night @ Sundance! I would love to be there, but too long way from Finland. PP maybe something for you?

Have anyone met the General guys /girls on their tour.... or do you even have plan to go check the Ladies Night?

If anyone wants to checkout the General tour, you better do it before June. After that, there won't be any tobacco branding allowed. I wouldn't mind going to one, but I don't ski or anything. It's something I would have tried, but I prefer whitewater paddling for my high travel, dangerous activity :^) I'd love to do some paddling in Norway and Scotland. From pictures, it looks like they have some stunning scenery, with kick ass rapids.

How is this gonna effect my sweet cope swag? Can they give stuff away, but it can't have the name on it? Kinda like a present. ! reason I ask is the last 3 physical gifts I've gotten are not branded at all.
          1. a mossy osk hat from cope. no cope verbage anywhere.
          2. a make your own "brand" t shirt from Marlboro. Not a PM endorsement anywhere.
          3. the most recent was a nice pocket knife from copenhagen a few days ago. no markings on it either.
          4. 2 Gift cards to Bass pro = $20 from cope as well.

I guess I'm wondering is it the gift or the labeling that will be illegal?

It looks like it's everything to me...

The rules also prohibit giving gifts in exchange for buying cigarettes or smokeless tobacco and prohibit the sale or distribution of tobacco brand logo items, such as hats and T-shirts.

There may be some wiggle room for skirting the ruling, but remember, the rules are whatever the FDA says they are. They aren't accountable to anyone, and it doesn't involve law, so there's little control over their power.

first this: New national bans on vending machine sales of cigarettes, free samples, tobacco company sponsorship of sporting events and even full-color cigarette ads are all part of the rules issued by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Don't think I've seen a cig machine in 10 yrs and if then not barely ever

second this: Everyday, almost 4,000 children under 18 try their first cigarette and 1,000 become daily smokers, Sebelius noted. "Despite a ban on direct marketing to young Americans, tobacco companies have still found ways to reach out to them," she said.
So basically there's nothing you can do short of banning tobacco all together to save the children.

Then there's this: It's not an accident that the brands that spend the most on ads -- Marlboro, Camel and Newport -- are the most popular among children than adults, Sebelius added. This week, a study published in the journal Pediatrics charged tobacco giant R.J. Reynolds with marketing Camel No. 9 cigarettes to teen girls, something the company denied.
Couldn't b that these are the brand that most of there parents are using, therefore more in the face of the discerning youngster smoker.

Next: The new federal rules should "make it harder for companies to advertise tobacco products and harder for kids to buy them," Sebelius said.

Where is this advretising happening anyway. (not Teenbeat for sure) Don't know about you but I can't remember seeing a cigarette ad in ages.

there's so much more wrong with all of this, but I'm prolly preaching to the choir anyway. It just pisses me off that I am an adult. None of this legislations gonna change anything. Except me getting my swag which i believe I have a right to. Seeing how I'm giving up years on my life expectancy (so they say) I should get something in return.
