I work alone in my office, and the filter crap holds back most stuff, so it didn't bother me any.

This is all so ridiculous. I haven't posted, nor have I voted, because I don't give a sh*t. I just wish the forum would go back to normal, like 2 weeks ago, 2 months ago, 2 years ago, it doesn't matter. Just not this. The occasional funny pic with sexual content can be funny -- if it's funny. Too many can easily become overkill. Is discretion really that difficult? I just don't get why people are getting so upset over this. Use discretion, be mindful that everyone else including the majority of readers who are unregistered can and will look at your post long after you leave it, and Snus ON.

First of all I wasn't upset by the NSFW at all. I use caution in front of my kids, but that link wasn't labeled and I had no clue where it was going, my bad I guess. Call me pathetic if you wish, name calling really isn't necessary tho, but the Elmo thing and fully naked women are a bit much on a snus forum. That is only my opinion. I don't really care what is posted, like I said I use caution.

        Enough already geeze.

At the time of my posting this, according to the poll: 63.89% of forum members polled agreed that we should have some restriction on content or a labeling mechanism.

YOU are the lowest common denominator here. I thought you said we should leave it up to Ice? Well Ice and nearly 64% of all forum members polled seem to take issue with some of the content posted here, so you tell me whos stance is "pathetic".
The lowest common denominator has nothing to do with your little pole. It refers to those that started bitching about NSFW content. That would primarily be YOU and Spirit72 and a couple others if I remember correctly. YOU and those bitching are in fact the minority.....and YOU and the others initiated this process that has now resulted in ICE saying absolutely no NSFW content at all, period. It is ICE's decision and I respect that. I for one thought limiting NSFW content to the "People & World" around us was a good idea.

I'm certainly not going to sit here and argue about it and go back and forth tit for tat like you incessantly do. It is beyond me how somebody can be at work "working" all day and posting on a forum seemingly nonstop, and not be concerned about getting into trouble or losing their job, but then when it comes to a pair of boobs all of a sudden they are worried about what others may think. There's a disconnect there.

Well we will leave it at that. We just disagree. At my job I get randomly tasked throughout to day to do various things and I spend a lot of my day waiting for emails approving certain content or waiting for the other parties involved to respond via email to whatever is being decided. This leaves me with a lot of gaps in-between which I can quickly spout off a reply on snuson. This is also why my posts from work are not well proofread, spelled improperly, and why I type so fast that I often times put the letters in the wrong places. When I post from my home computer I do not have such errors, because I am not squeezing it in while I wait for something.

As for losing my job, the moderators of our servers don’t mind anyone being on the internet as long as your work is getting done, what they DO worry about is viewing inappropriate content. That is my bad if I want to go on forums, but I and others were just stating that between work/wife/kids, it would be nice to try and be courteous to others in regards to what we post.

I am not really for censorship because I will probably post political crap in the future which might rub some people the wrong way. It would be a shame to have thought police on my favorite forum. That would be another freedom step backwords which is all too real in todays world.

Porn to me is full nudity or a realistic picture of let's say that big penis I have been seeing. Maybe it was a picture of a realistic dildo, I dont know but if it is real it is porn. The bouncing boobs was very suggestive but it was not porn, maybe borderline.

                WHOA, pardner.

I've said this several times in a couple of threads now. I don't care all that much about 'NSFW' content here. Nor did I ever propose that it should be disallowed. I did not even request that the **one** photo I raised an issue about be deleted.

I will say, though, that there are a handful of you guys that really, seriously need to get laid.

All I ever suggested was that it be identified beforehand, and/or relegated to a clearly defined are of the site, so that people for whom it may cause trouble, or people who simply don't wish to see it, can do so easily. Those viewpoints have to be considered just as fully as yours do. That's what I figured would happen, and I was more than happy with that compromise.

Ice has apparently decided to go the whole 10 yards with it, and that's his prerogative. I don't envy his position for one moment.

I think that's all that has been discussed by anyone here. I don't recall seeing anyone saying outright it should be banned, just labeled or cordoned off to a certain part of the forum. Ice will soon have to quit his job to keep up with all the problems on here lately so I also don't envy his position. This is also why I understand his having just decided to do away with it all together, because it is too hard to regulate in any meaningfull way without consuming all of the moderators time and energy.

To me this is not a sexual issue. It's not about oooing and ahhing over pictures. NSFW is not something I even care to post very often. I personally hate big boobs . To me this is a censorship issue....I just hate to see limitations put on expression to simply appease people that are offended. That's all it is to me....nothing more. I have no grudge or personal issues with anybody in regards to this.

There is a parallel though to tobacco. Censorship starts small, to appease one person....Eventually gets a little bigger to appease a few more, then outright bans certain things to enforce a status quo. China? Well you can draw the parallels with tobacco. Taxes....taxes....and more taxes...PACT......and prohibition.

                        Nor do I!

But to me, it's not such a censorship issue, because no limitation was being asked for. All that was asked for was fair warning, and perhaps a portion of the site earmarked for it.

But that's the whole problem, isn't it? One side is never going to fully agree with the other, there's going to be antagonism, and eventually people are going to test boundaries intentionally. So I can see exactly why Ice decided as he did.
