I think it was fair. They didn't go into details like I thought they should, but I can't complain. If they wanted a hatchet job, they'd have given that lunatic at the end more time.

Wow - I checked Google Trends and snus tobacco is at number 7 right now. Talk about exposure. I thought the show was somewhat fair except for using that guy who smoked and used snus daily as a representative for a typical snus user. There was no "in the middle" option for this poll so I didn't vote.

I was actually suprised that they gave it as fair a shake as they did.

The doctor they had on made some very interesting comments that most of us all along have been saying. Snusing is 90-99% less dangerous than smoking.

I do feel sorry for the Indiana smoke free lady though. While tobacco use has it's dangers, there are some positive things about using it for many people. In a perfect world no one would use a substance that is bad for their body but everyone, and I mean EVERYONE has a vice. Hers looked like it was food.

In the end, the more people that find out about snus the better it is for them, and for the rest of the snusers. More users = more availability and an increased social awareness.

I asked my grandfather when he was in his mid 70's if he missed smoking. He smoked from his teen years until he was 40. He told me that he missed it every damn day of his life. I'd hate to live 30+ years yearning for something that I can't have. If he would have known about snus, he might have been a much happier person, and just as healthy.

I agree. It was surprisingly pro Harm Reduction. The only exception of course was the anti-tobacco ... woman who did everything she could to vilify it. I was pleasantly surprised the reporter didn't spin negative.

Overall it was a fair story which was surprising. I wish they would have talked to more people about how it has helped them to quit smoking though. They touched on it with the Swedish TV host which was good, but spent way too much time with the American college idiot who smokes a pack a day and snuses while eating and brushing his teeth. Sorry to the idiot if he is a member of or lurker on this site, didn't mean to offend you

I thought it sucked. The reporter's personal responses leaned toward a negative attitude toward addiction. Not that addiction is good, but she seemed to be implying that addiction is harmful by definition. The anti-tobacco fanatic appropriately looked and sounded like a hysterical idiot. She only expressed opinions with no sound research to back her up.

Then the main example was a dual-user which backed up the fanatic's opinions and no other American snusers were interviewed. No numbers for dual-use were actually given. They just "guessed" it would be a problem. The only good part of the program was the Swedish doctor. Too bad the whole program didn't include more researchers and doctors with real information instead of opinionated hype.

I also though it was laughable that she called harm reduction "controversial". Apparently, saving 400,000 lives a year is controversial. Public health professionals with any sense encourage harm reduction if harm elimination is unsuccessful.

The only way that farce can be considered "fair" is in comparison to the rest of the bought and paid North American whore pieces that are passed off as journalism.

Snus is new, oh your a dual-user, kids like candy..... phuque me!

Great show right up to Clint landing that wad on the dogs head. Total pathetic nanny shit crafted for no one other then couch-potato-incapable-of-rational-thought morons after that.

Lord help us if they ever do a piece on snuff!

I reluctantly voted yes, because I thought it was more fair, than unfair, even though it had some stupid parts, it did broadcast many positives.

Well, American media and government is insanely anti-tobacco, so any story that allows any facts or any aspect of positive message, is a good, in my book.

Had to watch this just out of curiosity.

Loved watching that anti-tobacco woman's wild aquisations about the tobacco company's big conspiracy theory and how terrible all forms of tobacco are.

To me it would have been entertaining to get the Swedish scientist with years of experince in the matter to sit down with her and tear her many pieces of misinformation to pieces. I seriously think she could to with a big fat prilla. She looked really stressed to me and in need of a fix

Surprised at the suggestion that snus would lead nic users to regularly use snus and cigarettes. That surely hasn't been my journey and don't think many other's here either?

Anyhow hopefully the programme might get the message out to even more smokers that there is a much safer alternative to cigarettes out there that delivers adequate amounts of nic to keep you from craving cigarettes (unlike NRT)

judging from google search, it must have come across as a postive. I'm sure all the web shops are buzzing with orders.

Frank, you gotta let us know :P

Northerner have even put up a welcome message to those hearing about snus from that programme on their news section

Time to expand their warehouse maybe
