    Just saw my first moose!

The hubby was on his way home from work and called me to say to come out and jump in the truck when he pulled in the driveway in about 2 seconds. So, I jumped in and we went the quarter mile to the off ramp where it was...and she was still there, cool! Never seen a moose despite living in NH all my life too.

I took another pic, which showed her further away by the highway. Then she turned around and started galloping towards me so I kinda ran back to the truck and the hubby is saying "yes, you better get back here in the truck!". Um, hello, I'm the person that wants to go storm chasing, remember? So what's a 1 ton animal compared to that?

She veered away though so I stayed just outside the truck and snapped this one as she was going by. Just glad she decided to not go across the highway as the traffic was already stopped and the state police were trying to clear everyone out. As you can see, even the people on the off ramp weren't moving either.

The other pic was a little further away so I'll just post the link to it since it looks better at full size. Here it is: http://twitpic.com/1e3qvv/full

I bet it was pretty exhilarating.

I've seen plenty of bear and a mountain lion once but never a moose. Nice.

Very cool. I've never seen a moose either, but I'd love to. I'd like to see a full grown bull. I bet they're impressive as hell.

I had a bull moose perform a "bluff" charge on me this last deer hunting season. Scared the you-know-what out of me. It was during the rut, and he was telling me to get out of town.

But I'm happy you got to see one close up and safe! They are pretty cool creatures, albeit very awkward looking creatures.
