anybody know what this is and how to get rid of it?

they pop up randomly, have been for close to a year, ever since trying skruf stark los. i stopped using it for a few months and it still kept happening. went to my doctor and he said take benadryl...tried that didnt work, also happens on the palms of my hands...my palms dont welt up they just gets red and itches like hell.


they stick around for 10-20 minutes 45- an hour at the longest. the one in the first pic was maybe there for 10 minutes then gone.

Wow, and you think snus did this to you? Ive never seen that but your obviously allergic to something. My wife has the same problem, she spontaneously gets really itchy all over her body and when she itches it it gets really red and wherever she scratches turns white. Been happening for months and Dr's don't know what it is. Also it seems to happen mainly at night.

Let me know if you find out what it is man.

i dont think it was snus. or it would have happened two year ago when i started.

i just noticed it started after i used skruf strak los. stoped that and everything else i started doing around that time and it kept happening. my doctor hasnt seen it or pictures so hopefully these will help or i'll go to a dermatologist one day.

it happens through out the day. atleast 3 times a day, most of the time more

Just an allergic reaction man. I have had allergies my whole life. The first pic is pretty non-descript. But the second picture I have seen a thousand times. If they are only lasting 20 mins - 60 mins. I wouldn't worry about it. I would try to figure out why they are happening tho by taking in to account what you've touched, breathed or eaten prior to it happening. Process of elimination will help you figure it out. I'm not sure a dermatologist would help as much as an allergist tho. An allergist can give you a skin test and if that's not conclusive enough they can order blood work. It's been many years since I've been to one but they will figure it out. Just don't let them talk you into immunotherapy, I did that for many years as a kid and not sure it helped at all. never knew tere was a such thing as an allergist to be honest. i'll check that and report back. it doesnt really affect day to day living. more of an annoyance.

Definitely looks like an allergy thing.

I'd be willing to bet an entire paycheck that if you rubbed in a bit of snuff on the red marks they'd stop itching almost instantly.

It could be any of a million things so taking note of everything you touch or eat would be beneficial until you find out what it is.

PS that immuno-therapy didn't do crap for me either. Tree pollen, dust and cats are terrible for me especially cats...could actually be deadly. It gets so bad sometimes that my throat swells to the point when I labor to breathe and well I've never stuck around to see how far it'll go. Some cats don't bother me at all though...rare, but there are some.

Try using dye free and scent free detergent for your clothes and sheets. Then stay away from weird soaps and body washes.

Then aside from having a full panel allergy test you need to keep track of what you touched our ate right before you had a breakout.

For me if I touch a cat and then touch my arm or face before washing my hands I get welts. I can't tolerate fabric softener either.

I even buy Mitchum unscented antiperspirant because I had a bad reaction in my armpits from a different brand of deodorant that took over a week to settle down.

i use hypoallerginic detergent


all natural vegetable based soaps

and all natural vegetable based shampoos.

i'll talk to my doctor about etting an allergy test


but its just weird that it came out of nowhere and ive never been allergic to anything ever

It looks like an allergic reaction and even after you stop contact with the allergen you will itch for some time - even a few months.
Stay well away from what you think the allergen is.

Get yourself some Hc45 Hydrocortisone cream. It should be on sale without seeing a doc.

I get it on my fingers and they actually break open and itch like hell. I've got the strongest steroid cream going for it and I have no idea what I'm allergic to.

A Dermatologist will still help. They have patches they apply to the skin, then you come back like a day later. They then look to see if any part of the patch caused skin irritation and can determine what metals/elements were on which part of the patch.

That is, unless it's something you're ingesting rather than something from skin irritation. Either way it'll eliminate some possibilities.

Tex I second BB's recommendation about the allergist

I have heard of people having a reaction to the rose oil in Skruf but this does not sound like that. It looks like something you are in more general contact with. allergist should be able to pinpoint it.

Those lines look exactly the same when I have a reaction to our cats or friends dogs.
