I think Apple is staging a coup, and the thing is, with such strong initial sales, they may pull it off.

In the end, like all mediums of playing video, the porn industry will be the ones who decide this. They decided to make VHS popular, and them going wth Blue Ray means HD-DVD will soon fade out, and now they are all converting to HTML 5 because The Ipad is for Porn.

So in the end HTML 5 will win. Even youtube has converted and works fine on the ipad I was playing with. Problem is that it may take another year for everyone ot get on board.

I am still thinking about buying an Ipad despite it's many flaws and short comings. It serves the purpose I need and I already have a laptop for everything else. I hate Steve Jobs and apple's business model but they do tend to make products that last longer than a year, unlike Windows.

Macintosh might work for some people, but I find the limited options for upgrades and the infuriating pricing structure to be unacceptable (why are you asking me to pay hundreds of extra dollars for key features that other companies consider standard?).

They may cost hundreds of more now, but will cost you less money and frustration down the line. My previous imac lasted me 6 yrs and i never even did any upgrades that cost me any money, It worked like a champ till the bitter end when i had to replace it. True I could have bought a windows based machine for 1/2 the cost then replaced it every two years and never been happy with it. Somebody also mentioned anti-piracy, I don't have that problem either. Use Vuze for all my downloading tasks, it's flawless. I really don't get the it's not customizable argument either. I guess I'm just silly for wanting a beautiful machine that does what it is suppose to when it's supposed to.

I realize that my comments about apple are inflammatory and obnoxious, and I apologize for that. If it works for you, and you have the cheddar...go for it.
