The perfect day to me is 55F, cloudy, and a heavy mist in the air. Summer can go to hell :^D

You sir are the devil. That is the exact opposite, in every category, of what I like lol. I like a dry ass summer beach day with little more than a cool breeze blowing and not a cloud in the deep blue sky, with the sun beating down a steady 75-80 degrees. You can imagine why I don't get out of california much lol.

Well like PP I live in the NW suburbs of Chicago. We get the hottest most humid days in the summer and the coldest driest snowiest days in the winter. I still have trouble reconciling the humidity and heat but I have grown to love winter. Prolly has a lot to do with my favorite hobby of ice fishing. Not to say I wouldn't love living in San Diego (best weather in the country IMHO) but anyway having different seasons makes you appreciate other seasons IMHO.

My car has volcanic ash all over it and it's a tw@t to get off without sandpapering your car. Pressure hose required.

I have been reading up on iceland and it looks like it would be one of the coolest countries to live in. Their government seems to run pretty well, and the place is beautiful. Lets have a snuson field trip to go see the volcano! Who's paying?
but then I thought about real estate prices, taxes, shallow people and $9 dollar cocktails and talked myself out of it.

I bet you have never heard of a dehumidifer before.u
All the extra expenses out here are not worth all the "sunshine tax" they charge. I'm moving out of California in a month and I can't wait. I'm sick of it being SO DRY. My skin is dry, my nose is dry....you need a little humidity to live and keep your skin looking young. hell, I have to run a humidifier or I'm miserable.

Sg and Owens, California is not all that. which is why people are leaving in droves. you can keep your shallow people and high prices.
                20 years here, I'm done......so over it!

and yeah, the beaches are dirty and packed with weirdos, the water is cold and polluted as hell. can't wait to hear what is looks like when they start to drill here and often.

California IS the shit. The people are weird, the government is corrupt and liberal, and everything costs 10x what it should. But after visiting other states, I would never live anywhere else but CA. I really love it here, and it's where I was raised.

ladysnus - what is wrong with weirdos?

sgregor - I couldn't agree more. I have visited and lived in many other states and there is something nice about California, even with all of it's problems.
