Thanks PP. I've lived in and traveled throughout Asia a lot and I know how to bargain hard for small beans, but over there I always do it respectfully and have a good understanding that at the end of the day those people are trying to put rice on their table. Over here I take some sort of unnecessarily timid approach that I really need to work on. It doesn't serve me well... I remember one time I flew into SFO from China after a month or two, and I was hurtin for some water, and the lady at the counter in SFO airport said "2.75 please", and I said "oh c'mon, $2.75 for some water? I'll give ya $2.00". That didn't go over so well. Point is, I often forget how all Americans are hurting for my money and everyone is susceptible to some bartering. Great advice PP.

Why doesn't he just pay it off? Dam....I carry more than that in my wallet everyday. Its not like its a $30,000 or $40,000 velicle to deal with.
its the nature or the business. Thats everyday pocket money. Sometimes I travel with $50k and more cash. Depending upon the deal going on. The parrots I deal with aren't valued in the hundreds of dollars. Most are $10 k plus, each.

Listen to PP. Like I said before I've been in the business for years. If You haven't at least threatened to walk away from the table at least 3 times you have not done your job as a "buyer". That being said I did a short stint in a Motorcycle dealership. Not a lot of room to work there. Most MC ships are real competitive to begin with. This works well for the consumer tho, Being that it is very easy to phone/internet shop.

......And it fun to see the salesmen run after you as soon as you go out the door. Especilly if they know you have a pocket full of cash $ and you are going to buy the vehicle somewhere. lol
I love paying cash [and I mean a pocketfull of green usd] for a new vehicle....you can really make the salesmen squeel like a pig. :lol:Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......
I've been wrong lots of times. Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.
