      .....seriously?

Does this mean that the tree with the fruit in my backyard is proof the Adam & Eve existed? LOOK AT THIS TREE! IT HAS FRUIT ON IT! Evidence that this is where Adam & Eve resided!!

From the OED: "Used indefinitely to express a large number." The story of the flood in the bible only means to convey that it rained for a really long time, not that it actually rained for forty days. You also must remember that in any ancient story the concept of the whole world is far and away removed from our contemporary concept of planet earth.
Yah 40x and 40z is the common way of saying "a really long time. The jews traveled through the desert for 40 years, flood happened for 40 days and 40 nights etc. The number 7 is also used a lot. Fake numbers are fake. Yet when they claim the earth is only 6k years old, that number they interpret literally.

Does it really matter at this point? lol

and I gotta say, I was NOT aware of the number 40 just meaning "a long time" from that time. Good information to know.

I'm not going to believe Noah's Ark has been found unless I see a picture that shows "Noah wuz here!1!1 lol" spray painted in Aramaic.
