If the guy sitting next to me can smell like bourbon and smokes, I'm pretty sure God will let a snusser slide, lol. True story, btw. Guess he really came in for absolution, that was the last time I went to church.

In religion, sin is the concept of acts that violate a moral rule. The term sin may also refer to the state of having committed such a violation. Commonly, the moral code of conduct is decreed by a divine entity, i.e. Divine law.

I believe that "prostitute" was actually Jesus' wife.

I have snussed in church with nary a worry. That must mean I've been there in the last three years. I even snussed at my sister's wedding I was in. That's where I was nearly accosted by a priest. During the rehearsal it was a terribly cold day in October. I had recently shaved my head and was friggin' freezing standing in an empty church going through the motions. I put my knit hat on as we were practicing walking from one end of the church to the other. If the priest could have conjured lightening, I'm sure he would have. Everything stopped and he walked up to me and demanded I take my hat off. I politely said "Not a chance. It's very cold in here and I won't be miserable while doing this. I will go stand outside if you'd like but under the circumstances I'm sure God will forgive me." Boy was he pissed. He just stood there staring at me until I told him that I wasn't kidding. I glanced over at my mother who was wearing a hat (apparently women can wear them but men can't) and told him that his request was silliness.

What do you know? the show went on and I haven't been struck by lightening yet. yet.

Scarf was obligatory for women years back in both catholic and church of Ireland services.
And men really had to take their hats off.
