    Calling in sick.

In the ongoing saga of my hate/hate relationship with my job, I decided to call in sick today, and job hunt. Despite the fact, that I hate working in this big box nightmare, my wife and I just bought a new home, have 2 vehicles, and plans for children. We have all the usual bills, and my wife is all about the idea to take kind of vacation once a year.

There's just not enough money for the things we need/want. So I'm going hunting. Today I'm applying at a local distributor that supplies beer, wine, and sodas to grocery stores and gas stations. It won't pay much comparatively to what many of you guys probably bring home, but it is a good chunk of change more than I'm getting now. The plan is with my salary combined with my wife's, to bring home around 50K per year. Not a crazy goal I would think. I think we can pull it off.

    Wish me luck!

    Good Luck!
If you are looking for a place that has competitive wages and great health care try out Whole Foods Market. I dont know how far you are from it but there is one at

    3100 Cahaba Village Plaza
    Birmingham, AL 35243

Just a suggestion. You will figure it out I am sure.

Good luck bro!!! Let us know how it goes.
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

Good luck. Ive done that before, take off sick (or just quit all together) and try to find a new job. After doing that about 3 times i've carved out a nice little piece of the pie myself. Go for it!

Yes, if you like vacations, short work weeks, lunch hours and time to relax with family move to Europe.
If you like to work 40 hours or more, getting obese from sitting/stress and using all your money for therapy/pharmacuetical mental drugs stay here.

Yeah, my current job thinks that things like "stress" and "depression" are more like excuses for not working. If you tell them you are under extreme stress or are depressed they simply assume you can't really hack it anyway.
It's more than just a little screwed up.
But thanks for the kind words all the same.

                Fuuuuuuuuuuuu*k.

We are right on par with Taiwan. And we all know how little those child laborers work over there...

Living in Europe is sounding better every day, first I find out that it's the norm to have a full scale riot for any dispute you have with the government at any given time, and now 44 days of vacation? SING ME UP.
