Thanks to everyone, it was a tough day, but guess what happened this morning? The sun came up and a different day began, and the kids have gained some level of acceptance...we march on, lol.

UPDATE: My son Alex, has asked if he can dig the hole because she was his dog. He's almost 7yrs old....and I'm humbled and proud of him for being brave. There's nothing worse than realizing that as a parent you cannot protect your children from the realities of life, but nothing better than realizing that what you've been trying to teach them is becoming a part of who they are.

    Back to work for me....

      I'm traumatized!

I have a very soft spot for animals. Upon hearing this brings me to tears.

Sorry to hear about this, rickcharles606.

Rick, I wrote something last night but I either botched it when posting or it was deleted. I highly doubt the latter, but anyway, so sorry about your tragic loss, keep your chin up brother, sounds like today is off to a much better start. Get a new one?

Hey Rick and family, I'm so sorry this all had to happen.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Yeah, kids and death is a tricky thing but the worse thing would be to have your first loss be a relative.

I am very sorry for your loss, its never easy losing a friend.

Dogs are loyal companions, and it's hard to lose one you've loved.

Eternal Spirit, we bring you our grief in the loss of Ri-bear and ask for courage to live with it. We bring you our thanks for Ri-bear who lived among us and gave us freely of her love. We commit our friend and companion Ri-bear into your loving hands. Give us eyes to see how your love embraces all creatures and every living thing speaks to us of your love. Amen.
