Well, I'll probably like it then. I enjoy Thomas Pynchon, so I'm pretty used to surreal and difficult to understand books, and I could read almost every section of Umberto Eco's The Name Of The Rose and understand them. If I remember correctly, that book was written in a mixture of mostly English, and a blend of Latin, French, Spanish, Italian and German. The only bits where the meaning really lost me there was certain German parts that I didn't get. As long as Joyce sticks to mostly Romance languages for the puns, I should enjoy it.

Holy shit, i was just hearing someone talk about that book today when discussing the ayuaski (sp?) drink they use as a halucinagenic in brazil.Originally posted by skyline142 View PostHavent read a book in many many many years. But I decided to pick up 'DMT: The Spirit Molecule'. Very interesting so far.
Im starting to read larry niven's "ringworld" series again. Awesome trilogy and i think a fourth book just came out.

Ayahuasca, you mean, sgreger? Interesting stuff, but speaking from experience, it is the worst tasting thing I've ever drank intentionally. I liked the taste of shrooms, and even I thought this stuff tasted like ass. Intense trip though, if that's what you're looking for, and it's not all that difficult to get the necessary materials to make it in your home. If you happen to live next to a cop or DEA agent, I'd discourage making it in your house, though. You will have billowing purple, pungent smelling smoke coming out your windows for about two hours. Been meaning to read that book for a while.

Yah thats the one! I have a hard enough time as it is spelling english words, so no chance of me spelling that one right. I used to like halucinagens but those days are way past me and im too afraid to do them again. Also, nothing tastes worse than shrooms man thats nasty.Originally posted by shikitohno View PostAyahuasca, you mean, sgreger? Which reminds me, i have another intiresting book ive been reading a page or two of the last month thats about the history of magic mushrooms and tries to postulate a theory that every religion may have its roots in the anicents taking halucinagens of some sort. Makes sense to me, would explain the spirit world, nature being alive and some of the other wierd concepts we see in early religion.
I must go now because the earth-mother is watching!

I haven't read Under The Dome. Need to pick up the paperback sometime.Originally posted by deadohsky View PostI'm in a Stephen King mood right now. Just picked up Under The Dome. Not sure if i should put The Dark Tower on hold and read Under The Dome, or just both at the same time.... I'll probably read both. I have ADD with books, hard for me to read just one.
I've read the first four books of the Dark Tower series, and I love it.
Right now I'm reading Sleep No More by Greg Iles. He's probably my favorite author. If you've never read any of this books, I would highly suggest him to you.
