City plans saggy pants ban ordinance

HORN LAKE, Tenn.- Officials in a Tennessee town said they are working on a new ordinance to ban locals from wearing their pants low enough to reveal underwear or bare backsides.
Horn Lake Mayor Nat Baker and members of the board of aldermen said they have seen recent increases in men wearing their pants in the saggy fashion, leading them to seek a ban in the form of an ordinance, The (Memphis) Commercial Appeal reported Thursday.
"There have been ordinances like this upheld across the country, and in talking with the city attorney, I think we can draw up something that can be upheld in court," Baker said.
"They need to pull their pants back up to where they should be," Baker said. "It's getting out of hand."
Officials did not reveal possible penalties for violations of the ban.

PANTS ON DA GROUND PANTS ON DA GROUND.....lookin like a fool wit ya pants on da ground.

      sorry.....someone had to say it
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

I agree that the saggy pants trend just looks plain stupid but as long as they really aren't showing anything what business is it of the city government to say what people can wear? I can even see an employer or a school doing this but not the city government. Next thing you know, the government will be telling us what kind of snus we are allowed to buy in this country.

Man some of you guys are waaay more hellbent on bringing up racism than anyone on the left whom you oppose. This attempt is retarded, not racist, and so is wearing your pants around your upper thighs. But to each their own.

You know the whole sagging of the pants was started by the gays in prison. They sag there pants to let other inmates know they are gay. I have a friend that did some time in a California state prison, says they still do it.

I'm deeply disturbed by this. I don't want any government (state or federal) telling me how I should or shouldn't wear my clothes. I understand laws against indecent exposure (ie: showing genitals) but the government telling someone they can't wear their clothing a certain way reeks of totalitarianism. I don't even wear baggy clothes, I'm just concerned about the erosion of personal freedoms in America lately.

Same thing happened down south (I think it was in New Orleans or somewhere in Mississippi first) and they found some black priest to interview for an ignorant sound-bite. Ignorant on his part I mean. He was talking about how this was a conspiracy aimed exclusively at black men because the style is most popular with them.

The leftists will say this is black culture, and to say their pants must be up, is violating their civil rights.

Government has no business in dressing me each morning. If I lived there, I would start a new trend where my group would sag our pants as a form of protest to the government, they would then be unable to force me to lift my pants because it would violate my 1st ammendment right to free speech. The supreme court has already had a ruling on this issue anyways so this law would get struck down like lightning.

This show my asscrack style statement has been going on for close to a decade. Although I dont agree with a ban it sure would make walking the streets a little more pleasant. If it goes into effect I dont think I will be protesting.

NEW YORK (Dec. 18) -- A career criminal massacred three members of a family in their apartment but fell to his death when he tripped over his own baggy pants.

                              Sometimes things work themselves out.
