That's my biggest question. I wonder if they all died in the crash, and the Island wasn't just their way of reconciling their lives. As Jacob said, none of them were complete, and towards the end of the show everybody evolved and came full circle into more complete people. Which leaves open the whole religious/mythological element of Lost, Jacob as God helping people work out their lives, and if the island was simply just purgatory and all the events that happened never happened.

      I feel better about Ben.

      From this :

      Always getting his ass kicked...

To finally advancing at the Island, getting to serve as #2 to Hurley as the new Jacob. That made me smile. He really came full circle with his character.

And then, if they did all die on the plane crash, and the island was their purgatory, then what was the parallel lives all about? That wouldn't even need to have been, and if didn't make sense. I really loved Lost, and I know through out, it often didn't make sense, and I know it would end perhaps with out making 100% sense, but it could have ended with a much more satisfying ending, like some of the idea endings we have said, and while the finale episode had good scenes and parts, the actual finale ending wrap-up, just left me very dissatisfied.

They said what happened on the island was real. I didn't shed a tear. I thought I was, but didn't. The only time I did through the whole show was when Charlie died, and then when Sun and Jin died.

It was funny with Ben being the most beaten character. I did find the scene with Jack laying next to the dog to be touching, even though their heaven was no dogs allowed. I guess Walt and his son went to the bad place.

It's still weird that Walt and his son went to hell.

I watched it a few times and always thought it was going to be somekind of secret Government time machine or similar in the bermuda triangle that went completely wrong. It was abandoned for a reason but people still were finding their way there by crash.

Then the power of the island started to interfere with the world. Never did I think they were dead or a in a purgatory scenario.

It's kind of similar. The Lost island has a lot to do with electromagnetic energy, which is how it goes through time/space/location and brings people there by crash, etc. Which I believe is something similar to how the Bermuda Triangle works.

I have never watched LOST, but I would just like to laugh at everyone that did since I hear they ended the finale with it all being a dream and everyone dying. Rofl. That reminds me of another sory where this southern guy is getting hanged and as he's falling he imagines the rope snaps and he floats down the river to chill w/ prostitutes and fight yankees and shit, then at the end it turns out he really did get hung and it was all a dream. Rofl @ LOST fanbois.

It was all worth it. Despite the fact that the last episode didn't end the way I thought it was going to, it was worth it for every single episode for the past 6 seasons, except the "extras episode" where all the extras got to have a part, and the Nikki and Paolo episode - that was ridiculous. But every single one was excellent. Still the best TV show ever made.

But why did Walt and his son, and Vincent go to hell?

Maybe it was because Michael and Walt left the island? I dunno, I seem to remember that being important at some point.

Vincent didn't leave the Island. He laid there while Jack died. But it is what it is, all we can do is guess, and it seems the writers had no idea either. They probably had a giant tank with manities and idea balls.
