For some stupid reason I watched this whole episode last night even though I had next to no clue what the hell was going on. I did, however, discover that I'm in love with Evangeline Lilly.

The journey to the end was what made Lost so wonderful.

Lost was my fave show, but I still can't shake my disappointment with the ending. I just made less sense than the whole show itself. I'm left not knowing if they really did live on the island or not, was it all a dream, what's the deal with the parallel lives? Where they in purgatory? Why is Walt, his son, and Vincent in Hell? All the alternate endings we have thought up here would have been better. Their manitee and idea balls just didn't work well this time, to me.

This is about the 8th time I've revisited this thread today, just to look at the picture that I posted. Guys, I really want to touch her.

I think this was a Twillight Zone episode.

90 percent of it was good but the last 10 minutes was corny beyond belief. If it had ended with Jack dying in the bamboo forest that would have been great.

                DHARMA SHARK. That is all.

I still don't get a lot of it, but ultimately Lost is about the people, not the mysteries, and the writers feel that ending was the best way to explain what happened to the people and wrap it up happily.

And with no spin-offs planned, sequels, or any of that - and the writers saying they're not touching Lost again, we will be banging our heads against the wall for like 20 years wondering what the hell just happened.

That was An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge. It was a short story included in a book by Ambrose Bierce. It was a made into a movie. A Twilight Zone producer saw it, and bought the rights in order to make an episode out of it. It was first published in 1890. It has a long history, and for better or for worse, it has been VERY influential to say the least.

The whole spiel, it's about the people, not the story, to me, is a cop out, that couldn't give it a somewhat logical wrap up. The end was corny to me, it seemed to just try and pull on emotionalism, without making any sense. I would even have been more satisfied if it ended like General said. But like I already said, any of the alternate endings we have posted here would have been more satisfying to me, than what it was. Poor Vincent in hell, what kind of ending is that?

Lol. But if they did, they would be coming back in 2012.

Michael, Walt, and Vincent did not end up in Hell. Just because they weren't in the church does not mean that. Michael was shown as a spirit on the island a few weeks back, which is probably his personal purgatory - he may or may not end up in a good place when all is said and done. Everything that happened on the island was real - Christian said as much to Jack at the end.

Lost was the greatest show ever. Not everything was answered, but certainly enough was answered for me to be satisfied. Much is open to interpretation, but that's how it always was.

They might go in the dinner pot. Oh, I can't believe I said that, forgive me Dear Leader.
