As a single mom to baby Tripp and the new owner of her own Anchorage condo, Bristol Palin has become domestic. But when the 19-year-old mentions "dirty laundry," what she's referring to is her past with Tripp's father, Levi Johnston.
"He is a stranger to me," Palin tells Harper's Bazaar for its June/July issue about her former fiancé -- whose public behavior, including posing for Playgirl, she claims to ignore.
For now, there is only one man in Palin's life: 17-month-old Tripp. Still, the young mom does express hope about finding a partner, saying, "One day I will find a nice guy."
Recalling the painful confession about her condition to her parents in the middle of the 2008 presidential campaign, the teen says, "I remember sitting on the couch with one of my best friends and Levi, and I just couldn't spit it out. I was like, 'Mom, Mom.' I was bawling my eyes out. She was like, 'What's wrong?' And I was like, 'I'm pregnant.' And she was like ... Oh my God. Holy crap."
From that point on, her life took turns she didn't particularly anticipate.
"I thought I would be somewhere warm at college with my friends. But that was deûnitely not possible with having Tripp," she says.

Still, life is not without the benefits associated with her political family. Palin appears on TV with the likes of Oprah Winfrey, speaking as a paid sexual-abstinence advocate on behalf of the Candies Foundation and sharing her story as a cautionary tale.
Best of all, Palin is optimistic about her future. "I know I'll be a hockey mom," she says. As for becoming first daughter, "I don't know if my mom will run [for president]," she says, "but she should."
