I mean, really what are you reading that says there has never been any sucess using fetal stem cells? That is where there has been the MOST achievment by a long shot. That and umbillical cord stemcells (which are considered "adult" stem cells for the moment) which can cure a whole host of present day ailments. (This is why you can pay to have the umbilical cord blood stored so that if later in life your child (or a family member) get sick with a life threatening disease, they can be instantly cured.
EDIT: I should note that I am using the wrong verbiage here. Fetal stem cells are technically associated with the "adult" stem cell group right now. The embryonic stem cells are the good shit. (Embryonic stem cells are what comes from embryos)
I think what you read was that, although embryonic stem cells are the most researched and best of the stem cells, there are no approved treatments using them right now. Though that will change in the future.
