I've seen that around the web, but I haven't seen how deep it is. It looks like a bottomless pit from the photo. It also looks drilled. It's amazingly circular, and smooth walled for a natural phenomenon. It would be interesting to rappel down the hole to see where it goes.

That's what I was thinking too. It loks manmade but apparently it was a combination of naturaly phenomena and a crapy underground sewage system that allowed it to collapse and swallow a 3 foot building. I wonder how deep it is too, though I doubt it's not too deep. I think the photo just makes it look that way. But it did swallow a 3 story building so who know.

I thought this was going to be about Rosie O'Donnel.

As the oil just spews from the ocean floor, it seems to me, this would be displacing a large area, that would fold in on itself, like a deflated basketball.

I wonder if the building itself could have had some impact on the smooth walls of the hole or if it's perspective of the picture throwing it off.
