I have the Evo too;. Love it. Was first in line at my local Sprint store last Friday.

I am trying to get Ice to enable Tapatalk here. Would be here much more if he does. For now, visit me on Android Forums. Where I spend most of my time and posting. I do hope Ice adds Tapatalk support. Free, and they have clients for Android, iPhone, Nokia, and now Blackberry in beta. Don't use my netbook at all any more but this forum to much of a pain to navigate via browser.

I'd be worried about data caps for home? Unless you're in 4g area.

There isn't a cap with the EVO phone, even with 3G.

Well I have spent the week at TechEd with the EVO and I really like it. Even the battery is holding up nicely (after calibration). Texting is great, once I got used to the idea of multi-tasking and got the "Advanced Task Killer" app everything is perfect. Video is great, free Sprint TV is great, 8 mp pictures are great, Google integration is really great (email, contacts, calendar, search). I love the plan and no cap. All in all it's really a great phone.

There is however one deal-breaker that will make me take it back (very sad about it too) and it's not even the EVO's fault; since it's a CDMA phone you can't talk and surf at the same time. Now before you pile on me with "why would you want to do that?" let me elaborate. First, having had an iPhone for 3 years I have gotten used to checking emails and Facebook while on conference calls. But more importantly, I got the EVO for it's ability to become a wifi hotspot. While I had it in hotspot mode, and was sharing it with my friends, I got a phone call, and without thinking (since I have been used to it for 3 years) I answered the call, and everyone on my network lost their internet until I was done talking.

Needless to say, they weren't pleased.

Since I answered the phone I do not know if merely receiving the call would have been enough to interrupt the hotspot or not.

As I said, that issue is apparently a limitation of CDMA, not the phone. Which is why T-Mobile and AT&T have it, and Verizon and Sprint do not.

So, having a wifi hotspot that drops every time I get a call is not a very useful thing (also it costs an additional 30 bucks per month, which I didn't know when I signed up).

Anyway, thought I would share my experience with the EVO after using it.

Im waiting for the iPhone 4 release. It seems that apple has taken every little known downside with the iPhone 3Gs and simply added it with some new features. But it think it's funny how they try to market the "Video" call as something totally new. I mean, let's face it... it has been a feature since the first 3g phones entered the market.

Would be intresting to compare EVO with iPhone 4...

I'll get the Iphone 4 when it releases no doubt tho, I.... can't.... resist...

Me too. I am addicted to early adopting. I think I have bought every version 1 item that has come out LOL I know it's good when I buy version 2 (and in the case of iPhone, 3 and 4)

FYI...that will happen with 3G coverage, but if you would have been in a 4G coverage area, that would not have happened.

While almost everyone in my family has an iPhone and i have an iPad, i consider myself more of a tech nut that an Apple nut. We use US Cellular at work and I have been eying their version of the Incredible that will launch next month. Anything has to be better than the TP2 I use right now. Gah, WM is such a dead system that is a pain to use!

The EVO does look outstanding, too bad there isn't any sprint coverage to think of where I live.

A buddy at work has an Incredible. Comparing the 2 we decided its a tossup depending on what tweaks ya. Most noteable, Evos got a bigger screen, front camera,Incredibles much more "pocketable" and has more internal memory. If I was on Verizon I'd have one. TP2 was my last phone. I had a lot of fun with it but also a lot of WTF? and SOB!!!! moments. I should have switched to Android OS long ago.

A guy on my flight today next to me had an Incredible. While it "looked" very similar to the EVO, the EVO is considerably larger. It actually surprised the guy and made his phone feel small in comparison. Don't forget also that with EVO you get 4G, Incredible is only 3G.
