Evolution is supposed to guarantee that all individuals get to procreate: this is called "fitness" (your word, not mine)! If someone dies at 7, he doesn't get to procreate. This happens all the time. It also proves that evoution doesn't work EVEN BY YOUR OWN ****ED UP STANDARDS! Why would evolution make people have cancer? what "advantage " do you get from having cancer? How's this: if birds "evolved" magically from dinosaurs (tyranosaurus?), then there should be a creature that's 99% dinosaur and 1% bird, then another thats 98% dinosaur and 2% bird and so on. I've never really understood why evolution is considered incompatible with god.

I'm totally not religious, but couldn't an omnipotent god create life however it wanted?

When I was in school they taught several "origins of life":

1. Creation
2. Evolution
3. Space Sperm (I can't remember what they really called it - but the theory was that life on Earth came from somewhere else).
4. I think they were a couple others, but we were pretty much only tested on Darwin/Evolution so I ignored the rest of them

So, creation obviously required a god. But evolution could have been caused by a god at any point. And the whole space sperm option is not really an origin theory, but there could certainly be a god involved in that.

Sure, holy books all tell some sort of origin theory, but you don't have to believe any of these to otherwise accept the religion. I mean, I give lame answers to people all of the time that are not the whole story, but work well for situation. Like when you talk to little kids or laymen.

In the defense of those that don't "get" evolution... Geologic time is hard for people to grasp - things that seem impossible on our scale are a lot easier to accept when you understand the time-frames involved.

It's not, for many. The problem you have, is the view by some, that each disproves the other. Most atheists believe in evolution, some see it as proof that God does not exist. Some, of faith, believe the theory of evolution is promoted to challenge their faith (probably because most atheists believe in evolution) but some do not see the two as mutually exclusive.

But it's pretty obvious that we are the spawn of aliens breeding with primates. So they're all wrong.

This one's funny. Moore got famous when he stood up for the Ten Commandments when he was Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court. He was removed from office, and has been running for governor ever since.

He's never gotten close because he's got a small base from the TC thing, and it shrinks a little each election cycle.
