A friend of mine is vacationing in Italy and just emailed to ask if there was anything I wanted from there. Besides an authentic Italian meal and Italian hunk, my mind went blank. Is there anything 'Italian' that I am missing out on? Something that he could bring back on an airplane..maybe a certain type of cigarette, candy, liquor??? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have visited Italy twice. Its a very beautiful place on earth.
The Italians are very good at food. I would go for at bottle of really good olive oil.

How about some of their hand blown glass sets. While we were there on our honeymoon in '97 we were in Venice and bought a beautiful decanter and wine glass set. We also got a glass fish tank that was all hand blown. The Venitian glass is almost indestructable and something you will always be happy to show off!Comment

The glass is great. I saw something about 1/4 the size of my round glass fishtank locally and it was over a grand! I think we paid a lot less than that. And being hand blown it will always be a one of a kind.Comment

They sell the opera masks in Venice a lot of people bought those. You could also get tablecloths, and their famous for their leather and glass work but it's really expensive.Comment
