We happen to be one of the test markets....thought there had to be more.....Funny I've lived in tobacco country, farmed and used it all my life and until recently never heard of snus! I love tobacco in all forms! I chew! I smoke Cigars, cigarettes & a pipe! I dip! hell I even smoke bidis! Now I snus! I think I'll quit all the rest!! I doing the Knox thing just now but come payday I'm puttin' a new list into buysnus.com! Gonna try some of the brands you guys recommend!!
    Very informative Forum!! Thanks!!

Well, I just put my second order in to buysnus.com...........my first was a roll of Knox which I like! my second consists of:
        1 can Ettan white
        1 can Ettan loose
5 cans Nick & Johnny (just quit the cigarettes & me thinks I need the extra nic!)
        1 can Goteburgs Rape loose
        1 can General maxi
        1 can Skruf Strong loose

Thought I'd like to try the loose this time. No experience baking but I watched the youtube videos & I'm game!

        any thoughts??

Great picks! Ettan, I've never had the portions, but the loose is about as classic as snus gets - it's one of my favourites. It has a nice, mellow, almost smoky flavour to it. Göteborgs Rapé is probably my favourite flavoured snus - peppery and spicy, nice! Skruf stark, especially the loose, packs a wallop - it's just a kick-in-the-nuts kind of snus, also great stuff. Enjoy! 8)

Order #1 A roll of Knox portions (had a feeling I'd like it & I did!)

Ok order #2 came, Ettan loose (love it!), N&J (love it, but the salt and sweet together took a bit to get used to. Nicotine punch is great!), Göteborgs Rapé Loose & General (haven't opened) & Skruf stark loose ( fav so far!)

Order #3 put in today! 5 More Skruf Loose plus a couple tins of portions, 1 Skruf cranberry, Couple tins Probe loose & couple tins Göteborgs Rapé No2 Portion. Want to do the varity thing to find my 2 or 3 favorites, but don't wanna go too far out on the limb with the tryout boxes (I hate to throw away anything I pay hard earned $$ for. Forum helps greatly).

I'm thinking the strong brands and maybe one candy brand??
Oh Yeah I ordered a prismaster, I can & enjoy hand baking but it's messy, especialy in public! Plus my wife cringes at the sight of me doing it says it looks like dirt! hehe! Good dirt!!

After I decide on my favorites I'll strictly order rolls for the points! Great program @ buysnus!!

Any suggestions on what else to try?

I know you said you are hesitant to go with a tryout box, but I would still recommend it. Personal tastes may be similar, but they are hardly ever exactly the same. It is my goal to try every brand currently available; out of the many I've tried so far, there is only one that will never see the light of day again (it's still in my fridge, probably fermenting into something even more ungodly).

My 2 cents, of course, but I just like to keep my variety wide.

I agree with Jason, I'd order a mix box. With mine I got some catch which I probably wouldn't have ordered on my own - I don't know if it's the name or the packaging, but they seemed kinda girly - no offense. However, the cassis menthol was quite good - and the eucalyptus was also pretty good (although it was all I could smell for a couple days ).

                    I'd say both.

If you check out the women's tryout box Northerner sells, over half of the content is Catch, albeit most are the mini portions. I did get a tin of Catch licorice on my last order (just finished it tonight, as a matter of fact), and it didn't really impress me much. I think that if I ever get licorice anything again, it will probably be Metropol as I was really digging their peppermint version.

Yeah, I just finished a tin of Metropol's Pepparmint and I really liked it, it was definitely tasty. I've got a few other peppermint types in the fridge left, so we'll see ultimately which one wins out.

Thanx for the input guys........I'll take the advice & order the tryout box.........gonna order one in loose & portion. I like both but I favor loose! Upon closer inspection they are cheaper than what I've been doing!
                        I love this forum!!

Just a FYI, you can actually order one of each can from the tryout box for less than ordering the tryout box. You just don't get the neat little sheet that tells you what each one is supposed to taste like. And why would you need that sheet when we have the great descriptions on buysnus and northerner
