Haven't you encountered junkies who do dope on Parole/Probation but will not touch pot?
Yes, Marijuana stays in the sustem the longest. They say 30 days but I know dudes that have gotten popped after almost 2 months. I'm not contesting that weed stays the longest, i'm just saying that hard drugs can stay in your body in detectable levels for long enough to where drug testing them would still be effective, especially if it's a random drug test and unexpected.

Hair tests can tell you what you've done with more accuracy and can go back way further in time than a urine test can. Shaving the head works but there are also special bleaches one must use in addition to that.
Hair drug tests are uncommon as they are significantly more expensive than urine tests.
If you were drug testing large groups of people, there ar emuch cheaper and effective methods of using urine than using hair.

Maybe it would be easier to just not do drugs?

Dear SnusOn,
I never thought it would happen to me.
Back, about 20 years, I was in the USAF. Now, in the USAF, there are basically only like 2 things that will get you in trouble. One is skipping a dental appointment, the other is missing your urinalysis timeline.
When you get randomly selected for urinalysis, you have 1 hour to get to the collection point and pee.
One day I get selected. But my commander and my first sergeant are both occupied, so they finally track down my boss with less then 30 minutes left. She sends an LE car to come get me off the flightline and heads to meet up at the collection point in case I'm late.
The LE guy comes and gets me and we fly across base to the gym (yeah, for some reason the "Services" squadron does collections and not the medical group). The LE guy drops me off and goes back to work.
I run in to the collection point. My boss is there. There is a cute little female airman there.
I have maybe 5 minutes left before we all end up having to explain the whole deal to the base commander...
There's no guy there to witness me peeing. So... After a brief discussion, we decide that we'll just use the female witness, but to make sure that nothing inappropriate happens, my boss will come in to witness too.
So, there I go, into the bathroom with 2 ladies who are going to watch me pee. I'm 18 at this point, so, yeah... Um... Anyway, I manage to deliver my sample, tuck myself back in and I leave, red-faced to be sure, but at least this is all done and in the allotted time frame.
The very next day, I get a call from my boss - we have to do it AGAIN! Apparently, having female witnesses is against the regs and the sample is therefore void.
This time there was a guy witness. But then me, my boss, my first sergeant the cute airman and her boss get called to go visit the base commander and explain what happened.
I was insanely nervous, but he was really cool about the whole deal. We related the whole story, he does a "WTH? You did what?" bit then laughs off the whole thing and tells us to get the hell out of his office.
About 6 months later I met the cute female airman again, this time in a social setting and we ended up dating for like 3 weeks.
And in a strange twist of fate, several years later the base commander had become a general and he came to my new base. I was giving a briefing to him on our mission and when it was over, he asks, "Were you ever stationed at xxxxxx?". I gulp, "Yes sir". He smiles, "I seem to remember you and a certain incident...". "Um, yes sir"
So, then I'm red-faced again and then later have to explain the whole story to my new bosses.

LMFAO @ Dan (imma just call you Dan unless Im corrected)
The only UA test story I have from the Army that was of note was:
We were in formation, awaiting the UA. As I stand there I start to feel weird and the world slowly goes black. Next thing I know I have people helping me off the ground and my chin was bleeding like a mofo. Turns out I was dehydrated and kinda just fainted for a moment. ( I didn't start my smoking until I was out of the Army) I was laughed at and ridiculed for the next week. Of course the running joke was "Man, you really wanted out of that UA, uh.". LOL

I feel the same way. You do you and ill do me, enjoy your rights but don't infringe upon mine. But the problem arrises when you make something like meth legal, because someone addicted to meth is not going to follow those rules you established. They will infringe on your rights at every possible chance if it means them getting more meth. This is the problem, smoking weed doesn't make you go out and rob people, but some drugs do. So it's kind of a difficult thing since some people are responsible and some are not, this is the problem with laws in general.

I still say you're missing the point of long term use and the impact it has one how long you'll test for. To give some different sources the NIH and the Office of National Drug Control Policy. As you can see on page 16 of the PDF, purity of street cocaine stayed around 65-75% for a five year period not too long ago, so I think it's a safe assumption to estimate saying 70% would be about normal now. In the first link, the National Institute of Health states that 10-45mg doses of cocaine delivered via a variety of methods extended detection time to 98hours. Most cokeheads use a hell of a lot more than 45mg, though. 3.5g can be a one night supply. At about 70% purity, this amounts to 245mg of coke, or almost 5.5 times the dosage that kept you testing positive 98 hours later. Now multiply that by say, four times a week or so, for a number of weeks. The guys doing that (cokeheads who can afford to buy coke, which is most of them when they start) are going to test positive way longer than the guy who does coke once or twice a month. And junkies are a bad example for you to use. Aside from the fact that toxic metabolites will build up in your system when you shoot up for extended periods of time and you will test positive for a fair bit of time longer than most, junkies are not generally known for caring what happens once they are messed up or for making logical decisions.
You don't know how fast cocaine metabolizes after 96 hours.
And are you saying that these testers never encounter heavy coke heads?
Ridiculous! I have talked with professionals in the field who see heavy users
everyday. Dealers, thieves and assorted heavy users.
Try using this method on a term paper.

California welfare cards can be used in many casino ATMs
In more than half of the state's casinos and gaming rooms, welfare recipients can get cash from state-issued EBT cards.

I am coining a new term: Californifail
