Keith Olbermann: "Whaarrggaarbblll"
We know you love Keith Olbermann and his liberal views but he is a dick. Can't he at least come up with a cool conspiracy theory like Glenn Beck? Olbermann is too whiney-old-jewish-lady status for me.
It's easy for him to sit there, having done nothing of any relevance in his entire life but spew hatred into the mic, to talk about how Gen Mcchrystal is so evil and stupid.
That's the army for you, you do a thousand heroic acts and the first time you step out of line and talk back to your superior they kick you down as though you are some nobody.

Keith Olbermann
In November 2007, British newspaper The Daily Telegraph placed Olbermann at #67 on their Top 100 list of most influential US liberals. It said that he uses his MSNBC show to promote "an increasingly strident liberal agenda." It added that he would be "a force on the Left for some time to come." Avoiding ideological self-labeling, Olbermann once told the on-line magazine Salon.com, "I'm not a liberal, I'm an American."

You illustrate my point beautifully Joe. You don't even see how much Rush Limbaugh and Olberman have in common. They are soldiers for their party, never splitting from the official talking points even for a second. Never once does their real self come out, no real thought, only rank and file hatred of the other side.
I just get tired of hearing both sides spew ignorance, then I come on the internet and people are making fun of one side or the other. They are both the same thing. Olberman is as ignorant as Rush, he is as full of himself as Rush, Rush is as assenine as Olberman, both of them don't care about facts or critical thinking, only what supports their party's side.
EDIT: The " I'm not a ____, i'm an American" line was championed by republicans. It's so cliche and has no lasting meaning or value. It's just to make you sound like you are more right. Do you really believe olberman is unbiased? He is a liberal. You are a liberal so you love him. Rush is a republican, some love rush because they are also republicans.
Pot, meet kettle.

Seriously. This shit wins out over some off-beat humor and fun loving bouncing clothed knockers? I mean just look at the vulgarities and disarray this political talk causes.
Just my opinion but I see more hate and personal attacks being propagated with these discussions verses a couple blushing mom's, nosy bosses, or unsupervised children bopping about SnusOn.
Only my .02 cents. Don't really expect it to matter.

I don't understand how in these times, there is anyone that is into politics at all, let alone blindly on one side or the other. Serioulsy, what does either side accomplish? Absolutely nothing. Depending on who is in power, the other side just cries for 4 years, and tears down the other side for even sneezing.
Answer me this. What problem has a politician ever solved, ever??? Not a single one.
Why can't the people of this country, and this world for that matter, realize that politicians do not solve our problems. Technology and Scientists solve our problems. And the only reasons politicians even exist is because we live in a monetary society. And although it will never happen in my lifetime, and probably never happen period, the world will not be the place its meant to be until we move away from the monetary society model and move on to a technological model. As long as money is in the mix, then nothing will change, and it sure as hell does not matter if a Dem or a Rep is in power, thats for sure. Politics are so meaningless, and I see people get so bent out of shape over it. Its ridiculous.

American Politics is much more offensive than scantly clothed women. Guess it all depends on which head we want the blood to rush to.

You should google "Technocrats". Would be right up your alley.
The problem is that it is impossible to get away from money, it is inherent to a society of any type. It all starts with bartering, Ill give you corn for some fish. THat works fine untill one day I have plent of fish, but the fish guy wants to buy corn. I say, "Man I got enough fish, don't want anymore", Fish guy says "But dude I need corn". This is how money finds it's way in. At some point, the community will naturally create something of intrinsic or percieved valued to act as a currency, so that now the fish guy can pay the corn guy for some corn, and the corn guy knows he can take that money and buy something that he DOES want.
Money is a physical representation of your labor. Without this money, there is no way your labor can mean anything, because it has no value. I could work all day in a field growing corn but without money than all I will ever have in the world is corn, which completely sucks.
The technocrats had the idea to use energy as the "monetary" unit. Kind of like carbon trading, you would use energy as the from of money. You should good it, it's kind of like what you are talking about.
Oh, and politicians solved probems such as slavery (thanks GOP!) and transportation etc, but in the grand scheme of things, for every 1 good act there is 1,000 bad ones.

And whether people like me are "labeled" or not, (I know you meant no offense), it is true that technology and science are what solves the problems of the world. It sure aint politicians, because they have never solved any problems.

Yes I am very familiar with the Venus Project. It's founder was a technocrat, which is why I recommended googling it. The technocrats started this concept long ago, and have had their hands in things for some time.
I would love to live in Mr Fresco's Socialist Utopia, but the reason why that will never exist is not because of politicians or because people are sheep, the reason it will not work is because it can't.
It shares the belief that if scientists did research and forgot profit, there would be more technology and it would help us all live without poverty or want. The problem is, how do we educate our scientists, how do we mine the metals needed for the lab equipment, how to we assemble the lab equipment, etc etc. Money is the thing that makes technology possible.
Without money, we would still be on the farm in the middle of the african jungles right now. There can be no progress without money, or some medium through which ones labor can be traded.
