I was sitting here by the computer watching a ginormous spider crawl down the curtains in front of me. He was going very slowly, and since I like spiders around I let him be. When I say I like spiders around, I mean I appreciate the fact that they eat other bugs. Spiders actually creep me the hell out, but I leave them alone due to the before mentioned bug eating.

Anyway... I moved my hand to my mouse without looking, and this ginormous bastard jumps, making a tremendous racket as he does so. That was scare #1. Scare #2 is when I got closer for a better look, and he tore ass across my desktop. He was so big, I could hear all 8 legs pounding the stuff on my desk, and I don't think I've ever seen a spider move so quickly in my life :^O

I don't think I like having that thing in the house :^/

I've never heard a spider make a racket. I can't stand spiders. They are the only thing on the planet that I kill.

I'm disappointed after entering this thread I was seriously expecting you were announcing the return of our Savior. I'm actually expecting him -(hoping for) any day now the way my life is going...

But yea 10-4 on the spiders. I had one of those suckers camp out on my friggen hand the other day while standing in the middle of my kitchen. Thought it was just one of those little 'dog pecker' ants or whatever till the damn thing moved and I nearly broke my damn wrist on the countertop and shit myself all in one motion.

I guesstimate he had ~2" leg span. He had a big beefy body though, kind of like a mini hairless tarantula. He had a fairly upright posture too, so the leg spread would probably be a bit bigger if he were flattened out. That very well may happen if I see him again. I don't even like sitting over here anymore :^D

Spiders suck! I can have all 5 of my snakes crawling on me and I won't bat an eyelash, but get a spider near me and it's one DEAD spider about a nanosecond later

I never even saw a really large spider till I moved to Oklahoma. Then one day I came out of the latrine and there is this terrantula the size of a ****ing cat dude is was HUGE. I was like "OMFG KILLIT WITH FIRE"! We then used sticks to prod it untill it scampered into the latrines where everyone was taking a shit, which was hilarious.


I was going to start a thread about this: At my house right now we have a major spider problem. They look like either wolf spiders or brown recluses, and most are small but some are big (like the size of 2 quarters). So I don't think brown recluses get that big. But anyways, my daughter plays on the floor and our carpet is of a color where you cannot see spiders on it.

Does anyone know how to keep spiders out of the house? Are there any traps or sprays for them? I cant seal up our house anymore and we keep it clean. Not even sure what they are eating since theres almost no other bugs in there.

Oh shit i hate spiders. Killing spiders brings bad luck but really .. human swallowing average 10 spiders per life is creepy . Luckily i live in a country where we have very tiny ones. Like compered to spiders everywhere where its warmer they are as big as "normal spiders" hair on their legs.

I don't really know how to keep them out. Bug spray may work, but that's worse than having spiders imo. I tend to doubt the ones you have are recluses. You generally shouldn't see them. They like dark cubbies to hide in, and I don't think they generally wander, though I could be wrong.

Ok, seriously just got freaked a little...reached into one of my snake's cages to remove the skin she just shed and felt what felt like a web...yup, there was a spider dangling from my hand when I pulled it out. It was a little one but it didn't matter. He's in spider heaven now I'm just wondering how da heck it got inside a reptarium!

A spider is a spider...doesn't matter how big or small they are. I'll stomp them all!

We have these fat jumping spiders, they get in the house too, they are fast, and can be aggressive.
