Refurb snus would suck though.

I have never bought anything refurbished so don't know much about them. Kind of like buying local if possible so if there is any problem, it's easier to take it back.

In general, another thing you want to look at it the Mhz. If you watch sports or action shows, IMO, you need at least 120Mhz. At 60 Mhz you get some ghosting and it REALLY bothers me - like it makes me dizzy or something.

Both are 60 mhz but the response time is faster on the LG. It has 5ms and the Vizio has 8ms. Don't know much about what that means but some other sites said that helps.

Another question related to my purchase, what do you folks think about extended warranties? It's $59.99 at Office Depot which puts the total up to $455.78 for the LG and $44.33 for a total of $415.87 on the Vizio at Walmart. That is pushing my budget to the limit but know how some electronics are.

I know vizio is the generic brand but they are way cheaper and have always worked for me, and vie owned 3. I have a 50 inch right now and vie had their 32 inch and 42 inch and they all worked fine for me. I'd go with cheap if I were you, it's only a tv after all.

PMD, if you're not expecting to become a TV fanatic anytime soon,
and moola's tight, a refurb or Vizio-type might be the way to go.

Hell, I'm retired and I find my 32" Samsung LCD (the one that
originally cost me $600 at Walmart) is a great dust collector. I
could have easily stayed with my 19" analog and been fine with it,
since even retirement hasn't affected my taste in programs much.

I only use it for gaming and that is on the 360 more than the PS3. In fact, other than the upcoming NCAA football there is no other game that I want for the PS3. Only reason I am getting it for that system is I am going to play in an online dynasty with my son and his roommates.
