If you can't get fireworks make a dry ice bomb. Just get dry ice a bottle and put in some water screw the top on and put it away from you. Those things are so loud it's beyond belief.

Careful with those dry ice bombs. My state has now decided to make a law deeming them "manufacturing an explosive device-Felony" It's a no fun zone around here. I used to make those all the time. Man, they are a blast. You just have to be smart about it otherwise you'll lose an eye, hand, or foot!

Looks like no smoggy foggy cordite fug this year. Total rainout in eastern Kansas. Bunches of aerials went off last night in anticipation of the wet fireworks blanket.

Meh. It's just another day. No offense to those who enjoy it, but this day means nothing me anymore. I have to work today, tomorrow, and the next day. I can't give a shit about fireworks or crowds.
This isn't my America anyway.

I spent the weekend showing some Japanese friends that are visting America around. It was lots of fun, we went to Foxwoods casino, saw a cheesy show, gambled, and then had a barbecue with some real American food that I cooked, steaks, shrimp, hot wings, corn on the cob and potato salad, and of course lots of beer. Tomorrow we're going to see fireworks. They got a real kick out of, it's nice to know there are some other countries out there that still like us. I personally love the 4th of July, it's my favorite holiday and I love celebrating America, even with all its problems it's my home and I love it.

I have an actor friend from Osaka named Iori. Really cool guy. His biggest comment about the US? "There so many gay here! I never see so many gay! In Japan, you never see this kind of thing!"
We get it even in the south.

I am suffering from NO RAIN. We have not had any rain(or very little) in over a month. I am surrounded by woods too, so I am going to be limited to....ugh....fountains. I got a few decent ones but still. No aerials, candles, rockets, ugh this sucks.

I keep thinking "Just a few mortars at the end should be ok, nothing big, nothing will happen." No no no no no

Osaka is an awesome city, when I went to Japan that was my favorite place. The comment is funny, obviously your friend's never been to Shinjuku. But gays in Japan tend to stay very quiet, not parade around in the street.

Come up to Omaha

99% humidity and a thick blanket of smog clear across the city. We did a pretty nice driveway display (about 6 hours worth), but we were surrounded by people who take this seriously.

I have never seen it this smokey. You can't see the end of my driveway from my garage door. It's been like this since about 4pm.

Things did clear out for a few hours last night. Enough for a flurry of activity but the usual smoky miasma was almost entirely absent.

I watch. Never could bring myself to spend my own dough on the things.

I was mesmerized by the show I saw.
