I started college in 1989. I didn't finish until 2005. I went to 11 different schools all over the world.

Does it make it any better that of 97 credits earned between 1989 and 2002, only 10 actually transferred to my final school? (Don't get me started on transfer credits...)

I didn't get a personal passport until 2006 either. Before that I always traveled on a Military FOUO passport.

Until recently, you could go a lot of places without a passport anyway.

I am on the "8" year plan myself but I dont plan on running anything like a country anytime soon and would never vote for someone that has taken the track I have, I expect the "leaders" to at least be able to attend college better than I did. Would you go to a doctor that took longer than most to graduate and didn't make the greatest grades?

It's not a promotion when you have to resign to accept another position. The Executive and the Legislative are independent branches.

Palin quit, as I understand - and I don't really like her or follow her - because she was being pursued by politically motivated lawsuits. She was probably made less useful to the state of Alaska because of the time she was spending defending herself when she should have been leading Alaska. Resigning when you become a liability is often the right thing for leaders to do. i.e., Gen McChrystal

Like Obama, she found a job as a political commentator that paid better.

I have no problem with someone who betters themselves at any point in their lives. I'd be happy to vote for someone that took a "non-traditional" route, as long as they were qualified.

That's really two questions. Would I go to a doctor that took longer to graduate then most? It depends. Maybe not their first year out of residency. But even then maybe, I mean if they took longer because they were working full-time in some other medical role then yeah, I'd be ok with them. You might actually learn more by taking things a bit slower.

Grades are a bigger issue for me. I certainly would rather not have the "C" doctor working on me for anything important no matter how fast he made it through.

1 - you answer truthfully. Lxskllr, what do you read to get your news? I don't read as much as i used to. I get my news primarily from npr and bbc radio. When i do read, i like arstechnica online for the technology centered news which covers new trends, as well as their interaction with old laws.

2 - it's not my job to know. I'm not in public office with aspirations to the highest office in the land who'se job it is to uphold the constitution ;^)

3 - she should just stfu about foreign policy instead of making up bullshit. The correct answer, is "i don't have foreign policy experience, but i do have advisors who are well versed in foreign policy". This shit isn't too difficult if you have half a brain....
