All atkins here, I started my weight loss journey at 300lbs. I lost 95 pounds and joined the navy, Since I have been in the navy I gained 20 pounds back from being lazy and not watching my eating. So I have just started back on the Atkins Induction phase, It works so well for me. This time im planning on getting down to 190 lbs and then continuing the low carb way of eating to maintain my weight.

It's hard to eat well in an institutional setting like that. Even when they THINK they are serving "healthy" foods, they are stuck in the food pyramid mind set and even though there are many low fat options, EVERYTHING has sugar and tons of it!

I don't know about the Navy, but USAF chow halls always had PLENTY of healthy options, full salad bars, lean meats, omelet bars, etc.

Now, K-12 school lunches on the other hand...

The Navy chow halls have salad bars and health options, but there food just plain sucks. I'm sure it dosent compare to the USAF. Alot of the food is all frozen and just reheated, they dont cook anything from scratch. Thank god I live out in town and dont have to eat there =D
