DARPA to turn humans into batteries, ban red pills

    http://www.tomsguide.com/us/duracell...news-7464.html

A research project by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) seeks to exploit the untapped power reserve of the human body. By utilizing piezoelectric and thermodynamic power generation components, the researchers hope to provide enough energy for a suite of planned embedded technologies.

The main objective of the project is to create enough power to drive a bunch of military-friendly gadgets. Examples include "Sensor-studded clothing worn by a soldier tracks his movements and vital signs", and "contact lenses that function as computer screens" and receive information via radio.

In The Matrix franchise, robots enslaved humankind as a source of power. They turned humans into giant living batteries, tapping the thermal and kinetic energies produced by our bodies. While machines intelligent enough to take over are awhiles away, they'll at least know how to use as batteries when the time comes.

I always wondered why the Matrix machines didn't just use, say, cows for their batteries. Seems like it would be easier than having to go to the trouble of creating and maintaining the Matrix to keep human batteries in check.

This. It's all fear mongering and don't think it'll save you sgreger1. The robots don't care if you're a team player.

Humans are very primitave relative to an overwhelmingly intelligent AI...

Humans use oil created over a vast geological process that took millions of years to melt down dino bones.

If I created a race of robot overloards, they would actually use REAL DINOSAURS for their energy potential. They would literally bust a Jurrasic Park on that ass and bring back T-rex to harvest for energy.

Me and Joe would then sit and talk politics to the caged dino and he would squirm and roar and try to escape, but little would he know that all that energy would be harvested.

Okay new project guys, I need money to finance a movie set.

This would be pretty crazy, but has some potential. :P
