    This sounds simplistic, but...

Have you tried getting out of the house and getting some exercise?

It helps me. I go fly kites or ice skate.

I know it doesn't sound very useful, but it is for me.

Only Ron Paul will take my depression away!

I probably don't get out enough, but I do hang out with buddies, and go out on the weekends, and have band practice. So, I'm not at the point of jumping off a buidling, I'm just mad at the world, but then, maybe most of us are.

It isn't looking good. We need to draft Ron Paul.

For that matter - do we have any decent junior senators? It's not like experience counts any more when running for president.

I wish the democrats would see their folly and field a new candidate.

There's no law that the parties have to support the incumbent for another term.

I keep hearing Hillary Clinton may try to run, but that would be a disaster so I doubt they will. I think a MASSIVE amount of people, namely the Independents (the largest voting block) would vote for Ron Paul. But the conservatives HATE him, they demonize him as much as Obama, he is a threat to their old boys club and they smear him whenever possible.

Drugs aren't gonna fix that. You just have to stop thinking ;^)

I would really try to consider other options if at all possible. Once you get on those meds, that's it for the rest of your life and after a certain amount of time, you have chosen your path and really can't get off them without some very serious side effects. There are so many ways to treat depression, most of which are simple or free such as eating right or exercising. Or, more importantly, doing some meditation or soul searching and finding out what it is that is getting you down and try to fix it.

When I came back from the army I was in a very bad place and that's why I was on these pills. It took me a while to even really realize why I was in such a depression but eventually it dawned on me and I worked very hard to correct the root problem. It involved changing my life entirely and changing paths after I had been on one road for way too many years (to the point where I thought it was just my destiny). But now, after about a year, all that is gone and even things that should get me depressed no longer do. I no longer even need to drink beer like I used to, which is something I thought I could never stop doing.

Just give it a try at least, you really seal the deal once you start getting hooked on anti-depressants. But the Dr will claim there are no side effects.

                Liberals hate him too.

If you ever mention any sort of libertarian leanings you'll hear from both sides with shrill absolutist nonsense - when what we need is not 100% liberal, 100% conservative, or 100% libertarian - what we need is for the pendulum to swing in a 3rd direction for a few years. Right and left isn't working out for us, no matter how hard we swing in either direction.

Mixed reviews on the prescription meds I see. Yea some of them can F... u up pretty bad, believe me.

With that said, all I know is if I wasn't on anything I would probably not be here. They have enabled me to work through some tough times - literally. Especially the sleep (lack of) due to insomnia. If it wasn't for xanax, I don't think I would be able to sleep. Yes, I've tried that meletonan or whatever it's called. no workie. Good luck Tom, hope the doc directs you in the right way to feel better and deal with life.

The way i understand it is that this galactic alignment IS occuring, but what the 2012 shows don't mention is that it happens EVERY year. lol

The Dr said his choice was Zoloft, but he said it was my choice, which I told him I wasn't sure, as my symptoms are also physical related, so I told him I wanted to ponder on it, while I worked more with my other health issues, which were, hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, low thyroid, and low testosterone. He said I could take a test gel, or a shot, but said that had some possible bad side effects, though it would be a much lower dosage than atheletes use, I told him, I'll ponder on that as well, and maybe try some OTC supplement, like DHEA.

Stick with it Tom and yea, good idea to take care of the other health issues as depressions often goes hand in hand with them, especially the thyroid issue(s). - that controls many chemicals in your body.

Another thing to consider tom. You CANNOT drink alcohol while on these meds. Seriously, not at all, you will be howling at the moon if you drink while on anti-depressants. Another reason I hated them.
