I have noticed a lot of traffic lately. It could be because of construction and summer but I think there is a link with benefits.
My theory is if that if the extension passes that traffic will considerably lighten again until November when those extensions run out.

There was also about a week of extreme bad traffic right after New Years. Must of been many peoples New Year resolution to get up and go look for work.

They passed another $33B in unemployment extensions...

With this news I am sure the roads will lighten by tomorrow.

A month before the holidays is going to be rough for many to get dropped. They will probably decide for another extension after the New Year.

My garage logic observation was correct.
Today the roads to work were less congested then the past 2/3 weeks. Nothing dramatic but substantial for it also being a Friday and people leaving town.
