These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read

    1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.

    2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

3, The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

    4. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work, because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

    5. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing.

    Make sense to me.

I thought about number 4 when I was unemployed after the dot com bomb.

Sitting around talking to my secion 8 neighbor over beers (a obese white girl with six or more interracial kids coming all from different fathers), I learned about all kinds of things about housing/utility assistance, food assistance, child assistance, health care, dealing drugs, check/card scams and plenty more.
If you know the angles you literally do not have to work anymore in this country if you dont want to.
When Pelosi stated if you are a artist, musician or need some time to pursue a dream, you actually really can in this country!

My sister bless her heart, has been living off the government her ENTIRE life. We came from welfare, I left to make my own way, she stayed with the program, had some bastard kids, and has milked the government for every dime she could. Is it a good living? Hell no they live in squalor. But they live free from the binds of having to work. Don't get me wrong I love my sister just like the rest of my weird family. I just don't happen to approve of her lifestyle. She is a STAUNCH Democrat, because she believe Republicans and the right want to take away her RIGHT to welfare. No amount of convincing arguments ever get through.

If you make half the population depend on you, you in a sense buy there vote. They keep you in to keep from losing what they believe they have every RIGHT to.

I am reading Adam Smith's "An Inquiry Into The Nature and Cause of The Wealth of Nations", which basically deals with this whole subject. About how labor must be devided in order to prosper. Pretty much we're screwed. Too many people use temporary assistance programs to live off of and the rest of us who normally support those programs are slowly loosing our jobs. My uncle has been unemployed for 4 years and is now back living at his dad's house at the age of 55. I stand by my assertion that if you've been unemployed for 4 years, your not trying hard enough.

That is an awesome book. My ECON101 teacher gave extra credit if you read it. He was an impossible to understand Korean guy, so I needed the help. It made economics one of my favorite subjects.

And? Share the wealth! There's no way I'm going to make it to 70 and I want at least 1 year off before I die...

What? You want to retire before you're too old to enjoy it? You selfish bastard, get back to work!

The American goal is to get on government assistance, and be able to stay on it forever.

I know plenty hard working artists, but I get so pissed when I see a whole family of Mexicans at the store loading up on food with food stamps that I can't get cause I work it pisses me off. There are some truly effed up things happening. No benefits for illegals is my stance. What the hell are we thinking...

I can't imagine that lifestyle. I feel so depressed when I am out of work. I have never received assistance from government. I was taught that it is shameful to beg if you can get the same thing with hard work.
