I've always wondered that too. Even with the face on mars just being an optical ullusion, that whole are has a lot of vey intiresting geology. It looks like there are multiple pyramids and some other structures that seem out of place with their surrounding environment. Then, how odd is it that the "face" optical illusion is on a giant hill right next to them? I mean it is quit an extraordinary coincidence if you ask me.
Theres a lot of wierd connections to the Egyptian pyramids by the Mars Cydonia pyramids, and they contain a lot of the same mathemtical concepts in their design. The cydonia pyramids seem almost like they were not a natural occurance, given how the distance between them, aspect ratio etc are the same as the pyramids on earth, which is kind of an odd coincidence, for a natural phenomena to create the same math on a distant planet as one of our man-made structures. (and 3 pyramids on mars that line up with 3 pyramids on earth? I highly doubt the egyptians modeled their pyramids after something they observed on mars)
Even if these are just natural formations, if I were NASA and I could pick any 1 place on mars to send some rovers, THIS would be the spot. It is the most out of place set of objects on the whole planet and seems like a much better use of resources than driving around craters and shiat.
